Principal’s Report Welcome back everyone to Term 3. I hope that you have all had a relaxing break ready for a busy term. Since the commencement of Term 3 restrictions for some activities that can take place in the school have been allowed. We now are able to have choir begin again, school debating and to welcome back our scripture teachers this Friday. The Department of Education is allowing health providers such as speech therapists back into our classrooms. Any visitor who is attending the school needs to visit the school office and fill out a COVID-19 declaration form. If you require any other information about COVID - 19 or up to date information please visit:- https://education.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/advice-for-families I would like to thank you again for your ongoing support in supporting the school’s entry arrangements by dropping your child as close to 9.00am as possible and the staggered exit arrangements in the afternoon. We do understand the increased amount of traffic outside and parking problems and as a result we are allowing students to enter the school without going to the office for a late note up to 9.10am. If your child is later than 9.10am then they will need to go to the school office for a late note before going to class. GPS P&C UPDATE Term 3, Week 2

Our first fundraiser for the year has been completed. Thank you to everyone who has supported this year’s Pie Drive. Once we get details from them, we will let you know how much was raised. Our next event will be Father’s Day and we are working through how we will run this due to Covid conditions still being at the forefront of our minds.

We are still not able to have our meetings at the school so will continue with Zoom meetings; we have changed the time of our meeting to 6.30pm so people can get dinner organised prior to the meeting.

JOIN GWANDALAN PS P & C Our next meeting will be on Wednesday 5th August at 6.30pm. The zoom details are published on the monthly P & C meeting invite. We are hoping we will see some more people come to the meeting now that it is online. We would love for you to come and see what we do and have input in what happens around our school. We are all volunteers and many hands make light work. It only costs 50 cents to join so why not come and see what great stuff is happening around the school.

Canteen News Term 3

• OPEN 3 DAYS A WEEK, in term 3 the canteen will remain open Wednesdays Thursdays and Fridays. Any changes to this will be updated as they happen.

• FLEXISCHOOLS LUNCH ORDERS ONLY, to help cope with the increasing workload in the canteen ALL lunch orders will need to be placed via the Flexischools App or Flexischools Website.

• LUNCHTIME WINDOW SALES for small snacks and ice blocks has returned for term 3 if your child would like to purchase a snack or drink with cash they will be able to do so. Please note there will be NO hot foods, sandwiches or other lunch type sales at this time. FLEXISCHOOLS is the preferred method for all sales.

• VOLUNTEERS ARE REQUIRED, every day the canteen is open it requires a volunteer for 2.5 hours to help it run efficiently. If you can help from 9:30 to 12 any day this term please contact Jane or leave a message at the office.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the families that have registered for Flexischools. We now have over half the school registered and lunch order records are being smashed all the time. This is a great system with many benefits for families and the canteen. Keep up the great work. Welcome back for Term 3.
