GXI FESTIVAL Generation Eleven pops the bubble and invites you to come see various snapshots of personal work developed during the three years of Training Cycle at P.A.R.T.S. PROGRAM #1 - 04.07.2016 (approx. 2hrs) 'Shipment' made by Efrat Galai, Jacob Storer and Lief Bigaré performed by Lief Bigaré There is no fixed rule about the composition of circular letters. The main thought in writing them should be to attract attention and then to interest. A study of human nature and the particular nature of your customer will help in deciding what line to take. The general pattern of circulars which seek to sell goods or services might be something like this: (1) Attention-winning opening. (2) Market possibilities---the opportunity. (3) Goods or services offered. (4) Terms (if desired). (5) Strong and positive conclusion. 'Changes' made and performed by Elhad Bilal How does it happen Time goes and comes back What is gone is gone Welcome what comes No problem into problems Closest goals, achieve them and enjoy the achievements 'This Has (No) Name' created and performed by Mario Barrantes Espinoza Mentored by Bojana Cvejić Music by Terry Riley It doesn't mean the "correct decision" doesn't exist or can't be determined. The context isn't valid. You must take individual actions. Try to solve (or not) each doubt. Why that complex? Problems that are caused by an apparent easy decision. 'Pub 2' made and performed by Karoliina Loimaala and Adriano Vicente Music by George Aperghis 'Duet' made by Kamola Rashidova Developed with Anika Edström Kawaji, Karoliina Loimaala, Laura Maria Poletti and Kamola Rashidova Performed by Kamola Rashidova and Laura Maria Poletti Mentored by Femke Gyselinck Special thanks to Ayse Kaya, Louis Nam Le Van Ho and Sien Van Dycke
This dance is a moving spatial exploration in an imaginary cube. As they come on stage, the dancers create a limited space for themselves. Within a constraint they create a common playground for themselves allowing the full expression of their individual creativity, musicality, and harmony. The piece starts with a two dimensional discovery of their imaginary delineated territory. The performers contrast with a complex choreographic infrastructure. This choreographic object (composed of two bodies and an intangible cube) shrinks and expands, becoming an elastic and playful matter that unfolds its many different layers of geometrical and human complexity. -BREAK- 'CELEBRATING' made by Stefan Govaart In collaboration with and performed by Liza Baliasnaja, Efrat Galai, Stefan Govaart, Theo Livesey and Adriano Vicente CELEBRATING parties with colloquial language and sensual moves. It obsessively accumulates itself, it seems to desire something it cannot get; a modest party (without sex & drugs) that needs a lot of time to get moving. But it wants to move smoothly. It intensifies dialogue (multilogue). It re-performs the already performed daily conversational situation. It's alienated everyday. The subjects stand in line, inefficiently reaching out for each other, in unpractical cloths, using the same vocabulary, almost singing in tune, subtly moving their hips, slowly coming closer, with a zest of longing, seeking for a grand finale. 'September 15#2' made and performed by Amanda Barrio Charmelo and Sien Van Dycke PROGRAM #2 – 05.07.2016 (approx. 2 hrs) PROGRAM 2 CONSISTS OF 2 TRAJECTORIES SPECIAL RESERVATION REQUIREMENTS: TRAJECTORY A: send an email to [email protected] mentioning your full name and ‘I am up for a challenge'. A ready-made. An étude. ‘Smile’ made by Maya Oliva Performed by Tina Breiova, Anika Edström Kawaji, Karoliina Loimaala, Louis Nam Le Van Ho, Akiyoshi Nita, Laura Poletti Music by The Beach Boys Dedicated to Dan McLane Special thanks to Jake Warren and Bryana Fritz Written by Brian Wilson (The Beach Boys) and lyricist Van Dyke Parks, SMiLE was “composed as a multi-thematic concept album, existing today in its unfinished and fragmented state as an unordered series of abstract musical vignettes". After writing Good Vibrations, by recording “short interchangeable fragments” and assembling them subsequently, Brian decided to create his new album using the same technique. He worked for 10 months between 1966 and 1967, fully embodying his ideals of rejection of rules and adult conformity. For various reasons, the project collapsed and waited 44 years to be finally published in its closest to complete version possible in 2011. "Pop music has been exhausted. The innocence has been exhausted. I think we've lost the ability to be blown away by music." "To wear a floral shirt is an experience." Not none of nothing. A little bit of some kind of anything. Feeling inexplicably exhilarating... vague?
