    5. TOXICITY AND FIRST AID

    Adverse effects are not likely to occur in the workplace provided exposuredoes not exceed acceptable levels.

    Medical Conditions Aggravated By Exposure : Inhaling respirable dust mayaggravate existing skin and/or eye conditions.

    ACUTE TOXICITY

    Eye Contact : Direct contact with dust may cause irritation by mechanicalabrasion.

    Skin Contact : Direct contact may cause irritation by mechanical abrasion.

    Skin Absorption : Not expected to be a significant exposure route

    Ingestion : Expected to be practically non toxic. Ingestion of large amounts maycause gastrointestinal irritation and blockage.

    Inhalation : Dusts may irritate the nose, throat and respiratory tractbymechanical abrasion. Coughing, sneezing, and shortness of breath may occurfollowing exposures in excess of appropriate exposure limits.

    FIRST AID

    Eyes : immediately flush eye(s) with plenty of clean water for at least 15minutes, while holding the eyelids open. Beyond flushing, do not attempt to

    remove material from the eyes. Contact a physician if irritation persists or laterdevelops.

    Skin : Wash with soap and water. Contact a physician if irritation persists orlater develops.

    Ingestion : If a person is conscious, give large quantity of water and inducevomiting. Get immediate medical attention.

    Inhalation : Move to fresh air. Dust in throat and nasal passages should clearspontaneously. Contact a physician if irritation persists or later develops.

    6. PERSONAL PROTECTION AND CONTROLS

    Respiratory Protection : Dust masks are recommended

    Ventilation : Local exhaust or general ventilation adequate to maintainexposures below appropriate exposure limits.

    Eye Protection : Safety glasses should be worn as minimum protection.

    Hygiene : Wash dust exposed skin with soap and water. wash work clothesafter each use.

    7. STORAGE AND HANDLING PRECAUTIONS

    Respirable dust may be generated during processing, handling and storage. Thepersonal protection and controls in section 6 should be used as appropriate.

    Storage : Store in a cool, dry place.

    8. SPILL, LEAK AND DISPOSAL PRACTICES

    The personal protection and controls in section 6 should be used asappropriate. Wetting of spilled material may be necessary, do not dry sweepspilled material. Prevent spilled materials from entering streams, drains or

    sewers.
