DR Cooker Hoods was established in 1979 to supply the new generation of cooker hoods to the electricaland kitchen trades.Their superior design made them much easier to install, they were Dual Function, that isthey could be used in either ducted or recirculating mode and were widely acknowledged for setting newstandards in the marketplace.

These new cooker hoods were supplied by Elica Spa of Italy, a fledgling company with great aspirations.Thefirst models comprised two free-standing dual function hoods: the 60 Select and the 90 Deluxe in 2 colours,brown and white.

From these small beginnings, Elica went from strength to strength and is now the largest manufacturer ofcooker hoods in the world. In this catalogue you will see an unequalled range from the most sophisticated,state-of-the-art Wave to the simple but effective freestanding models.The cornerstones of Elica’s success areits innovative designs and the quality of its products; many of the same models sold in 1979 continue to be indaily use today and spare parts for these are still available.

All four models benefit from the elica double action door system. This system allows doors of aminimum height of 400mm, plus if required, an overlap at top or bottom. The opening or closingof the door also switches the power for the fan and the lamps both on and off, facilitated by theinternal microswitch.

Elica Integrated models adjust to suit wall units from 270mm to 370mm deep and can be usedin either the ducted or recirculating mode. Ducting from top or rear (see line drawing).INT60-3 & INTUHS60-5 have the provision for ducting horizontally out from the back within theheight of the appliance, using the unique duct connector supplied with these superb models.

The Elica Built In models are designed for fitting into the bottom surface of specially built canopies,650mm to 800mm above the cooking hob.

These quality models can either be ducted to an outside wall (see Elica Freeflow Ducting leaflet),or may be used in the recirculating mode (a charcoal filter to be ordered). When used in thismode, provision must be made in the canopy for clean air to be vented back into the room.

The ducting chosen must be at least the same area as the spigot on the cooker hood.Spigot diameters will be 100mm (4") lower performance, 125mm (5") high performance150mm (6") for very high performance hoods.

The use of smaller than the recommended ducting will adversely effect the designedperformance as regards airflow and noise levels.
