Sagar Smart City

Rahatgarh Fort is about 40 Km west from Sagar on Bhopal-Sagar Road.

• This place is famous for

its architecture, gates and its ruins.

• It is situated at the bank of the Bina River which is crossed at this point by a fine bridge of fourteen arches.

Eran is an ancient town and archaeological site in Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh, India. • It was one of the ancient

mints for Indian dynasties as evidenced by the diverse coins excavated here.

• The site has 5th and 6th- century Gupta era temples

and monuments, colossal stone boar with sages and

scholars depicted on the body of the sculpture.

• The inscription stones found at Eran are important to reconstructing the chronology and Gupta

Empire history. • Eran or Erakina was the

capital of Erakina (Airikina) Pradesha or Airkina Vishaya, an administrative division of the Gupta empire.

Khimlasa , a mahal in the Sarkar of Raisen of the subah of Malwa.

• Khimlasa is enclosed by a fortified wall built of stone rubble more or less coursed

• In the center there is a bastion fort of which the

gateways alone form an interesting feature.

• One side of the fort is the dargah of the 5 Pirs, with an elaborately carved perforated screen work,

which deserves an special mention.
