Please note that your booking is not secured until full payment is made or a suitable payment

arrangement is made with the House Manager. CONDITIONS OF ENROLMENT Fees become due at the time of booking. Places will not

be held unless fees are paid or a deposit received and payment plan arranged.

Refunds cannot be given once a class has commenced or at least 5 business days notice is provided as we are committed to pay course costs.

Refunds will be given if the class is cancelled for any reason.

Prospective students should be aware that some courses/activities may not proceed if there are insuffi-cient numbers to cover operational costs.

Concession rates apply where indicated and only on presentation of a current concession card.

Notification will be given only when classes are can-celled or rescheduled. Please assume that the course will proceed unless otherwise notified. If you are con-cerned or have any queries, please contact the House.

Developing skills in these programs will greatly assist you for work or in acquiring employment as well. ABC OPEN PROJECT - Free Workshops

Local regional ABC producer Marc Eiden will be con-ducting free workshops to help you with ideas and with learning skills in digital storytelling and making media. Take a look at the latest ‘Now and Then’ pho-tos on the website - http://open.abc.net.au/projects/now-and-then-series-2-44un7gn#/about. Come along to these workshops to learn how you can create a ‘Now and Then’ photo and share your pics with ABC Open using Flickr. Bring along your camera (tripod if you have one and your walking shoes and an old photo you would like to rephotograph.

CERTIFICATE II (III & IV) IN APPLIED FASHION

DESIGN & TECHNOLOGY LMT21707

This course is eligible for Austudy or Youth Allowance should you apply to Centrelink and is recognised Australia wide! Gain experience in basic patternmaking, design and sewing skills. Garments made to

individual body measurements. On successful com-pletion of this course you will receive a accredited certificate from the College of Fashion Design and you will be able to continue studies with Certificate III & IV in Applied Fashion Design or choose to earn in-come from the skills you have gained. DAY: Fridays (20 training days) DATE: TBC TIME: 10 am - 4 pm FEES: $110($55.00 per session) plus $260.00 materials cost that includes SITAM AB pattern drafting kit payable on registration. FOLLOW WORKPLACE HYGIENE PROCEDURES

This accredited course fulfils the requirements for those needing this qualification for their workplace or for their role as a volunteer. Students successfully completing this training will receive the nationally rec-ognised certificate. Courses on other dates can be organised for your group to be held at the Community House. Tai Chi, or Taijiquan in Chinese, is an outstanding gem of traditional Chinese culture that is valuable in promoting health, and improving concentration and overall well-being as well developing combat and self-defence skills. LEARN TO PLAY BRIDGE

Bridge is the world’s most popular card game and it can provide immense challenge and enjoyment for the rest of your life. The form of bridge played today is called 'contract bridge' and was invented in 1925. The estimated number of bridge players exceeds 60 million. THAI COOKING

Green Curry is a staple dish of Thailand and in many Thai homes it is eaten on a daily basis. Using ingredients commonly found growing around the home and very little meat, curry is an economical and healthy part of the Thai diet. High in vitamins and rich in protein, it is easily digested when eaten with rice as part of a Thai meal. Lek will show you how to make this traditional Thai dish. INTRODUCTION TO

SCREENPRINTING

Screen printing is a printing technique involving a screen that is tightly stretched around a rigid frame, areas that are not to be printed are masked out. To create the print, the framed screen is positioned over the item to be printed along with a dollop of thick ink. A squeegee is then used to press the ink through the screen. The masked areas prevent ink from passing through, but the unmasked areas allow the ink to be imprinted on the material. INTRODUCTION TO CREATING MOSAICS

Mosaic is the art of creating decorative designs con-structed from small pieces of tile, ceramic, coloured glass, stone or other suitable material. Many surfaces around the home can be brought to life with mosaics including furniture, walls, floors and garden areas. Learn this beautiful and rewarding technique and get the skills you need to create unique mosaic pieces reflecting your own personal style. Bring along lunch. All materials supplied. The spread of traditional Chinese food began with Cantonese style cooking; stir-fries, sweet & sour and chop suey. In recent years spicier food from Szechuan & Shang-hai have followed. Little Woady’s is a program for preschool children aged 0 - 5 years and their parent or carer. The Community House has a library of pre loved books, videos and DVD’s available to borrow or swap. Take some, leave some, relax and have a read, while enjoying a coffee in the lounge area.

We also have a collection of LARGE PRINT TALKING books, for those who are vision impaired or just prefer this type of book. Donations of good quality books and magazines accepted.

Please note we are unable to accept educational texts and instruction manuals.
