NATIONAL PARK SERVICE
Hunkering down for the winter, but the visitor center in Hagerman remains open
except Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We are also closing on holidays.
What happens on closed days? School programs in the all too
small theater take up all the space. And there's planning for next
year where we always hope to do more.

HAGERMAN ELECTION!! November 7, 2017 Vote all day at the American Legion Hall.
TWO (2) City Council positions are open for elec-tion. Four (4) candidates are running for the office.
They are: Steve. Bland, Carl Jeffries, Alan Jay and John Tomlinson. Mr. Bland AND Mr. Jeffries are currently serving on the Hagerman City Council. Mr. Jay has served previously on the Hager-man council and Mr. Tomlinson is currently serving on Hagerman Planning and Zoning.
CITY CODE: Hagerman City Code will be available online beginning 11-06-2017. The link to ac-cess the Hagerman City Code is: www.sterlingcodifiers.com/Hagerman. Subjects covered by City ordinance include: Health, Water, Sewage and Sanitation, City Administration,Business and LLC Regulations, Public Safety, Public Ways and Property, Building Regulations, Zoning Regula-tions, Subdivision Regulations, and Motor Vehicles and Traffic.
CITY PARK: City Park restrooms will be closed for the winter on 11-01-2017.
WASTEWATER FACILITY UPDATE: Ground-breaking for the Wastewater Facility was on 10-26-2017. Everyone will soon notice the activity to the south end of town near the city sewer la-goons. Construction for the Wastewater Facility Project is on track. All of the funding agencies have been satisfied regarding paperwork, engineering, grant funding, loan funding, insurance and blueprints. At the November 4, 2014 election, you, the Hagerman citizens, voted for the expansion to the existing wastewater facility. The vote was 263 - AYE. And 50 - Nay. Thank you everyone for your vote and your support for our hometown's growth and future. Knife River was awarded the contract for the Wastewater Storage Lagoon. Idaho Materials and Construc-tion was awarded the contract for the Lift Station.
DOGS: Dogs-At-Large are a constant and continuing problem. They stop trucks on the highway, frighten children, are aggressive toward walkers and joggers, tear up trash and carry insects and disease back to your home. The Hagerman Dog Kennel is inadequate to contain the dogs. So the city will pick them up, take them OFF the streets and transport all picked-up dogs-at-large to the Twin Falls Humane Shelter. Fees to reclaim your pet at the shelter are:
The dog must have a current county or city tag. Hagerman tags are $5.00 and $10.00.
Per night boarding fee is $10.00. Vaccinations are $10.00.
Reclaim fee if dog is not spay/neutered is $25.00, $15 reclaim fee for spay/neutered dogs.
Tag for dog not spay/neutered is $30, $10 tag for spay/neutered dog.
Hagerman is asking for assistance from our citizens for ideas on design, remodel or replace and finance an adequate humane shelter in our own town.
The Twin Falls Humane Shelter phone number is 208-736-2299.
Hagerman Planning and Zoning is seeking new members to join the commission. Contact Mayor Weir 208-280-0944 or Hagerman City Hall 208-837-6636. If you have an interest in local government and would like to begin to participate, Planning and Zoning is an excellent place to start.

NOTICES & OBITUARY PAGE, WWW.HAGERMANVALLEYNEWS.ORG
Hello everybody, I want to introduce myself.
My name is Alan Jay and I’m running for City Council of Hagerman.
Like most of the local kids, I left Hagerman to pursue a career. After retiring from the mili-tary and having a young family, I decided to bring them back to Hagerman where I grew up.
I chose to bring them here so that they may experience the qualities of life that come with the close knit community. I remember a community where you could count on peo-ple, where we all took care and looked after each-other.
I have previously served on the City Council of Hagerman and am confident and knowl-edgeable about the impending issues and city dealings. I would like to continue my service to our country by representing the people and their concerns in our great little town.
I would appreciate your help in bringing me back into the City Council of Hagerman by voting November 7th so that I can continue to be your voice, the voice of the people.
