‘Special is generally less useful than normal’: this statement
sums up Jasper Morrison’s guiding principle for creating designs
that are ‘super normal’ rather than extraordinary, showing
deference to the dictates of daily life – just like HAL. As a
reinterpretation of the multifunctional shell chair, HAL comprises
a versatile seating family with a clean contemporary look. The
shape of the seat shell provides great freedom of movement in a
variety of sitting positions – even sideways or astride the
chair.

In the version with a four-legged base and a powder-coated fi
nish in ivory or basic dark, HAL Tube is weatherproof and therefore
also suitable for use on balconies or in gardens. Special additives
retard the fading of the seat shell colours from the sun's
rays.
The 15 diff erent chair bases can be combined with a seat shell
in polypropyl-ene (HAL), in plywood (HAL Ply) or with a lightly
padded shell covered in leather (HAL Leather). In the versions with
a polypropylene shell and powder-coated base, HAL is also suitable
for use in outdoor settings. As additional options, a fabric seat
cover in various colours is
available for all versions of HAL, and models with a plastic
seat shell can be outfi tted with a fi xed seat cushion.

The HAL row connector is a linking element in two sizes: 100 mm
for a smaller and 180 mm for a larger distance between the chairs.
The number clips
of the linking elements for the .03 also match the new HAL

The fabric covers for the seat shells of HAL and HAL Ply off er
enhanced comfort. They come in Plano fabric in 6 predefi ned
colours. Additional hues in the Plano collection can be selected
for orders of 6 or more seat covers. Two fl aps on the back of the
cover fi t over the top of the backrest and the front of the seat
for easy attachment and removal.

Plano Plano is a robust plain weave with a fl at, even texture.
The wide palette of duotones with new, delicate washed-out shades
includes many relatively neutral hues, a good number of which are
coordinated with the Hopsak colour range. Thanks to its durability
and longevity, Plano is also an ideal choice for offi ce
furnishings.

HAL seat upholstery
Hopsak Hopsak is an expressive, fl at plain-weave fabric made of
polyamide. The duotone colours off er a multitude of design
possibilities in high-contrast, brightly hued or subtle
combinations of warp and weft threads. Highly durable and robust,
Hopsak can be used in private interiors as well as public
areas.
Hopsak is available in 35 colours.

Twill The high percentage of natural fi bres gives Twill very
