How the Evaporator Works

The evaporator is connected into the compressor discharge line between the compressor and the air reservoir.The warmer compressed air stream is pumped by the compressor through a venturi shaped passage in theinjector. A smaller passage ahead of and angled to the venturi admits air to the liquid alcohol below and alsointroduces the resulting alcohol vapor into the air stream. The air flow through the venturi then assurescompleted vaporization and mixing. After leaving the venturi, the air stream passes through a one−way checkvalve located in the evaporator outlet. It is there to seal off a possible back pressure and enable removing thefiller cap to refill the unit with alcohol.
