Andrea’s Newsletter --- July 2009 (Page 4)

Dear Angels, I am so excited; we have already achieved the status of a Saturn Vue Unit! I am so proud of all of you. I don’t know yet if we have achieved the $300,000 Circle of Achievement Unit yet, but will let you know in the August Newsletter. Since we do not finish Seminar until August 1st, our August Newsletter will be getting to you later than usual as we want to have all the pictures we are taking in it for you. Kay Childers and Mary Welter will be going with us to Seminar this year. I am so thrilled to have them with me. July 1, 2009 is the start of a brand new Seminar year for us. I have enclosed an article by Earl Nightingal adapted by NSD Linda Toupin on “The Strangest Secret”. Reread this article several times as it will give you insight on your future and what you want to accomplish this year. When I became a Beauty Consultant 42 years ago, my Director, Helen McVoy gave me a book on how to think. It changed my life and has stuck with me and helped me to become a Director and to think positive about life. We could not be in a better position for our business to grow in leaps and bounds. If you need more income, Mary Kay is certainly the way to achieve this need. There are so many women out in our towns that are willing to work for a good income. Offer your opportunity to every one you come in contact with. Use the outline I gave you last month. Encourage them to book five shows at the first of every month and to not leave a skin care class without getting two future booking appointments. Mary Kay always said that anytime we have left a show without those two appointments, that we have just set a match to burn two $100 bills. Now an average show is $300 plus. Yipes that is over $600.00! So also study the article on the “6 Rules of Booking”. The prizes this month are beautiful necklace sets with earrings. You can go to my website (www.andreapace.com) and look at the newsletter and see the prizes in color. They are gorgeous. You are constantly in my thoughts and prayers for you and your families.

God bless you all, Andrea

Andrea’s Website

Andrea’s website (http://www.andreapace.com) is designed to help Consultants in her unit.

You need to click on the unit number (0154) to get beyond the front page of the site.

Most materials on the website are in color. You can print color copies of a particular page if that would be helpful to you, and you can change the items that are in Microsoft Word (such as replacing Andrea’s and contact info with your own). An Adobe .pdf copy exists on the site of nearly everything. This is to enable all to be able to use it (including those who do not have Microsoft Word).

From Andrea’s website, you can download copies of the newsletter, either in the Adobe .pdf format on as a Microsoft Word document.

The Adobe .pdf version is in the Newsletter page (hit the Newsletter button at the top the page, these buttons appear on every page of the website).

The Microsoft Word version is on the Items to Download Page (hit the Items to Download button at the top of the page). This is also where you find the other things you can download (the type of file is indicated for them).

The Adobe .pdf file is usually smaller than the Microsoft Word file, but even the .pdf file

will often be a megabit or larger. Sometimes the Microsoft Word file is several megabits.

So beware that the file to download can be large.

If you ever have trouble connecting to Andrea’s website or getting materials from it, please let Andrea know so that the problem can be solved.

The Strangest Secret by Earl Nightingal (created by NSD Linda Toupin)

What is wrong with men today? Men simply don’t think. 100 people who start even at age 25 and think they want to be successful: By Age 25: 1 will be rich. 4 will be financially independent. 5 will still be working. 54 will be broke. What is Success? Success is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal. The opposite of courage is conformity. People acting like everyone else. Why do we conform? Those that conform believe that life is shaped by circumstances, things that happen to them. Why do you work? 19 out of 20 say they have no idea, or they work because everyone else does. Instead of competing, all we have to do is create. The Magic Touch that all men have who have become successful and continue to be successful is that they all have goals. Selling is the world’s highest paid profession in the world if we are good at it and we know where we are going.

The Strangest Secret – Key to success and the key to failure.

The Strangest Secret – “We become what we think about.” If you do not think about your goals you will have confusion, anxiety, fear, and worry. If a man thinks about nothing, he becomes nothing. The human mind is like land. As you sow so shall you reap. It returns what we plant. Our minds come to us free, yet we place little value on it. All the priceless things in this world were given to us free when we were born. Plant your goal in your mind. It is the most important decision you will make. Why is this law strange and it is a secret? Because even though it is ages old, few people apply it or understand it. Life should be an exciting adventure. The architect of the universe did not build a stairway leading no where. “As you believe so shall it be done unto you,” said Jesus. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Which means – “We have to pay the price”. Each of us succeeds to the extent of our ability to sell. Selling is common to all goals in all our lives.

What is the Price?

Understanding emotionally as well as intellectually that we must control our thoughts. Permitting our minds to soar as it was divinely designed to do. Limitations are self-imposed. Raising above narrow minded pettiness and prejudging. Use all your courage to force yourself to think positively about your own problem and to focus on your own goal. Act promptly and decisively when your course is clear. Save at least 10% of what you earn.

Important points of the PRICE.

You will become what you think about. Imagination – Let your mind soar. Courage – Concentrate on your goal every day. Save 10% of what you earn. Action

30 Day Test

Each of us wants something. Each of us is afraid of something. Steps:

• On a card – write down what you want? Single goal and clearly defined. (Your Mary Kay Goal.) • Look at it several times a day. Also as soon as you get up and when you go to bed. • This is the difficult part because it is the formation of a brand new habit. Stop thinking about what

it is you fear. Replace it with a positive image of your goal. • Take control of your mind. Do more than you have to do. Give of yourself more than you have ever

done before. • Don’t concern yourself with how you are going to achieve your goal – leave it to a power greater than

you. All you have to do is know where you are going. Your answers will come to you in their own accord.

“Ask and it shall be given you, seek and ye shall find, knock and it shall be open unto you.” Sermon on the Mount.

• “Act as though it were impossible to fail.” Persistence is another work for faith. • If you fail start over with 30 new days. (Are You Overwhelmed with negative thoughts?) • Put your goal on one side of the care and the scripture on the other. “Ask and it shall be given you,

seek and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto you.” • Read inspirational books. Don’t worry. Worry brings fear. Fear is crippling. Don’t try to do it all

yourself. • Hold your goal in front of you. Everything else will take care of itself. • Be calm and cheerful. Don’t let petty things annoy you.

You will have a tendency to forget what you have read. Read this often. You will earn money by providing people with services or products which are needed and useful. The Law is that financial return is in direct proportion to our service. Success is not the result of making money. Making money is the result of success. (Put the fuel in, before we expect heat. Be of service first before you can make money.) Don’t concern yourself with the money. Focus on the effort. Mutual exchange Law. No man can get rich unless he enriches other. No exception to the Law. If you want more, give more service. You will get back what you put out.

6 Steps To Realize Success 1. Set a definite goal. 2. Quit running yourself down. 3. Stop thinking of all the reasons you CANNOT be successful and instead think on the reasons why you

can. 4. Trace your attitudes back through childhood if negative. 5. Change the image you have of yourself by writing out a description of the person you would like to be. 6. Act like the successful person you have decided to become.

Repeat the 30 day test over and over and over. You will have peace and a calm, cheerful, and successful life.

6 Rules of Booking

Naomi Ruth Easley, National Sales Director Emeritus

1. Adjust your Attitude (Determine how many cards you will hand out and get names on, not how many people you will book. We can’t control people. We can control our own activity level.

2. Select at least 3-4 particular things you are looking for in people to talk to. Example: On a rainy day, look for a raincoat, rain hat, umbrella, anything representative of the situation or date. Going to a dentist’s office look for a white uniform.

3. Talk to her in her best interest. Her shoes, her rings, her child, her job are great examples, don’t jump right into Mary Kay, this will appear pushy.

4. Then pull the conversation to Mary Kay. “You’ve been so nice to me; I would love to do something nice for you. I teach skin care and I would like you to be a model for me.”

5. Next ask a positive closing question. “Is there any reason why I couldn’t put your before and after photo in my portfolio? My way of saying thank you is to give you your after photo.

6. Don’t Talk! Once you have asked the closing question, DON’T TALK, The first person who speaks is the buyer. You already bought the product once, now it is their turn to buy. Remember you are doing them a favor!

BOOKING IS THE LIFELINE OF YOUR BUSINESS! WHEN YOU ARE

OUT OF BOOKINGS, YOU ARE OUT OF BUSINESS!

Gathering New Names & Tracking Those Names (Follow-Up) (By Sr. Director Rebecca Manning)

1. Gathering NAME is your TOP PRIORITY!!! * Make a list of 30 faces (woman with skin). * CALL every single one of these people (call on the PHONE – because – truly – using email or “Facebook” seldom works). * OFFER a free facial to each one (if they cannot meet with you for whatever reason, ask if they’d like a brochure mailed to them, and don’t forget to also ask for Referrals!). * Study & Tape to your office wall – “The Tentative Booking Approach” and “How to Overcome Objection”. 2. WHERE to find new names (new faces): * Number One best Place: at your Skin Care Classes. * Facial Boxes (place in Nail Salons, Health Clubs, Etc.). * ALSO: Ask for referrals (Tic Tac Toe). * Networking (thru mail/on phone). * Fairs & Booth & Trade Shows. * Setting up a table in a store. * Through FUN PACKS. * WARM CHATTER (hand out your card & samples). 3. Follow-up is the KEY (or you will lose them). * Call back within 24 hours (while they remember you!). * Use proven SCRIPTS (so your wording is more often than not guaranteed to get a “Yes” response). 4. A SYSTEM for follow-up. * When you come home with your new names: tape them into a spiral notebook, making sure you write the date & place you met, written just below each name. * This will provide you with a TRACKING SYSTEM for all your leads & new faces. Make it a goal to develop 5 new leads onto ONE PAGE. * Keep the page opposite your “pages of names” empty for taking notes so that you are keeping conversation you have with all your people straight. This way, you will know where you stand with each person!!! (So that every time you PHONE THEM, you are keeping track of messages left – OR – the conversations you had with them.) 5. AS SOON AS YOU BOOK AN APPOINTMENT WITH THEM: * Secure the appointment thru COACHING (go online to Learn MK) * MAIL TO THEM 2-3 pieces of mail: FIRST send out a postcard, next mail them a Hostess Brochure plus a few “invitation-postcards” PLUS include your “Hostess Special of the Month” Flyer (these mailings remind your person that you are coming, encourages them to share the appointment with friends, and excites them about their upcoming “Pampering experience!!!”)
