reduce the puffiness often seen in under eye circles. In addition, the peptides in Haloxyl® help to thicken the skinunderneath the eyes, giving better tone. Finally, the product removes dark circles by eliminating the pigments in the blood trapped under the skin that are responsible for the discoloration. In one study, 22 female volunteers used a 2% solution of Haloxyl for 56 days and a decrease in the red and blue colors of discoloration of 19% was achieved. The Benefits of Haloxyl® The main benefit of Haloxyl® is the reduction of dark circles and puffiness under the eyes, often associated with aging. By treating the inflammation and discoloration that occurs when capillaries leak blood under the skin, Haloxyl® can give you a more youthful and fresh appearance. Combined with other ingredients that address signs of aging such as wrinkles and sagging, Haloxyl® provides a more complete restoration of the facial skin and appearance.

Eyeliss® Eyeliss® is also made by Sederma, and it was created to target bags and puffiness. The formulation is made up of hesperidin methyl chalcone, steareth-20, dipeptide-2 and palmitoyltetrapeptide-7 and the ingredients work together to target the three main causes of under eye bags and circles. These ingredients increase lymphatic function, reduce capillary permeability, boost elasticity & firmness, and decrease inflammation. The end result is smoother under eye skin and a more youthful and fresh appearance. Eyeliss® is recommended to be used at 3% solution, and this is used in our Advanced Eye Gel.

The Origins of Eyeliss® The company created the product to compliment its other offerings and it does so very well. Adding it to an eye care formulation can significantly reduce under eye bags, while other ingredients will work to reduce fine lines, dark circles, and sagging skin. Most important: Eyeliss® works on a cellular level to address the causes of under

eye bags, rather than simply addressing the symptoms. The Benefits of Eyeliss® Eyeliss® strengthens the capillaries, thereby preventing them from leaking fluids under the eyes, and improves circulation to the area, thus allowing fluids to move more easily and avoid pooling.

Next, it promotes the drainage of any fluids that may have built up already. It is this fluid build-up that creates the puffy look underneath eyes and by draining the fluid away, the under eye area becomes less puffy in appearance. It also reduces tissue damage and thus allows the skin underneath the eyes to become firmer and more toned. This helps to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Over time, using Eyeliss® results in a reduction of puffiness, fewer fine lines and wrinkles, and can even help reduce dark circles, though for best results it should be combined with Haloxyl® which fights dark

Matrixyl® Any effective cosmeceutical meant to improve skin quality and roll back the clock on aging will need to include a compound that helps to increase collagen and elastin production. This is crucial because it is elastin and collagen that give skin its elasticity, smooth feel, and plumpness.

Matrixyl® has been tested well, and its main benefit is to increase production of collagen that is lost with time and age. Collagen is essential for youthful skin structure. Studies by Chemist Ian Hamley at Reading University were published in Molecular Pharmaceutics and demonstrated that Matrixyl® effectively boosts collagen production.

The Origins of Matrixyl®

Matrixyl® was first formulated and released by Sederma to the public in 2000. It is composed of a type of peptide called a matrikine, which is responsible for signaling the skin to increase production of collagen and elastin. It also contains a second peptide that improves the penetration of the molecule through the structures of the skin. The deeper the compound can penetrate, the better it is able to increase production of collagen and elastin. Since the release of the original Matrixyl® Sedermahas developed two additional products based on the original– Matrixyl 3000 in 2003 and Matrixylsyn the 6 in 2012. All three are different and perform different roles in skin anti-aging, though all boost collagen production. The original Matrixyl® is used in the Advanced Eye Gel. The Benefits of Matrixyl® Matrixyl’s primary benefit is in its stimulation of the skin’s fibroblasts to produce more collagen and elastin. This function of Matrixyl® leads to increased levels of collagen and elastin that gives the skin the same smooth and plump look that it had in youth. This is turn leads to a reduction in sagging as elastin provides more support, and a reduction in wrinkles as the skin is filled out by the addition of collagen. Because our bodies produce less collagen as we age, the collagen boosting effects of Matrixyl® are highly valued by those who wish to turn back the clock on aging.
