Within these walls we support work-spaces for over 200 creative practi-tioners, artists, designers, social enterprises and small businesses. We also provide community space for people to cre-ate, interact, learn, move and play.
s soon as Pigeon was hatched she
was drawing, paint-ing, making and sewing anything she could before flying the nest to get herself an Illustration degree in Cheltenham.
When the weather turned cold Pigeon flew South to Bristol, where she now resides, always forag-ing for new projects.

It’s a deliberate hot pink summery edition this time round. The aim is to keep the sun shining and for the grins on everyone’s faces to get wider with the anticipation of summer and festival season approaching.
Speaking of festivals, we will be having our annual Open Day next month (a mini festival in it’s self - kinda).
The tentative schedule includes a bicycle powered cinema, a tonne of music, open studios, a bit more music, some eye opening talks and an amazing array of food!
A special mention goes out to In-House who will be putting on another whopper of a shop in our gallery space for the whole month of June.
We love opening our doors to show y’all what’s shaking here at Hamilton House, to showcase the gob smacking array of talented tenants who feverishly work within the depths of the building producing masterful work, and to broadcast how this amazing project has developed since conception (and still is developing).
Our perfectly timed event will be happening on the 14th June in line with the start of the Big Green week so ink it in your diary right now so you don’t forget. There’s no excuse for not coming down to see us because it’s FREE!

Some of you may remember the craziness that was the first Invis-ible Banquet back in Autumn 2011. Get excited because Lord
Wasshischops is inviting you townsfolk into his enchanted forest for a little taste of spring this time...
An amazing collaboration between the delectable Eat Drink Bristol Fashion, the incredible Invisible Circus and of course the wonderful us... Brings to you a feast of tomfoolery where you will be served up skyhigh platters of sensational food whilst being whirled into a circus extravaganza and sipping on a delicious concoction of a cocktail.
This will be a fundraiser for the work we do with The Bristol Drugs Project that happens at The Coexist Community Kitchen - we’re pretty excited about it all!
This time round the tantalising, tastebud twirling culinary delights will be cooked up by none other than:

Alternate sundays from 5pm to 7.30 pm
Come and help us strip down and disassemble the bicycles that are donated to us that are beyond repair. We will keep all of the parts that can be reused to build and fix up other bikes.
It’s the perfect session for people to get to grips with how a bicycle works and our friendly mechanics will be on hand to offer you guidance and advice. If you would like to volunteer with us but feel you need some basic skills, this is a great place to start. We have plenty of vol-unteering opportunities throughout the week, check the website for more details.
Community Conscious is now offering a FREE service from Hamilton House on behalf of Smoke-free Bristol.

Both bands are equally tight as you like, however, and make properly catchy groovers as a matter of course.

Electric Jalaba + Area Boys - Haunting vocals and driving North African rhythms underpin this remarkable Anglo-Moroccan fusion project, a space-age collaboration between electro-groovers Soundspecies and gnawa master musician Simo Lagnawi that slinks along like the best desert blues yet kicks like the subtlest kind of dub. Zadio Tanzi - an equal serving of African roots and American style in the original songs of Zadio Tanzi, a soulful husk of a singer whose Afro-blues style is a fresh sounding fusion.

Harry Bird & The Rubber Wellies - A hard-working and semi-nomadic trio of folk-hippies ‘based in Ireland, Portugal and Holland’ (?) giving the world a quizzical eye and then setting the results to lilting country melodies with good-time choruses you can all join in.

Brooke Sharkey & Adam Beattie - Two singer/songwriters who each play in the other’s band, the cool clarity of her (Brooke’s) voice somehow balancing his (Adam’s) street-scuffed tones. She has a folk gypsy calling, he an Americana compass. It works because they’re both so damned good.

Toyface - Reckless and whimsical singer/songwriter Toyface takes her eloquent confes-sional poetry and strings it across a deceptively simple musical scaffolding before singing it with loads of pizzazz.

Afrocluster - They love that funk, Afrobeat and hip-hop and they refuse to choose. Cardiff collective Afro Cluster put it all together and, by jingo, it fits, Lagos horns, Sugar Hill scratching, Bootsy bass-bubbles ... whatever.

Nubiyan Twist - Blistering coming-together of proper reggae grooves, baying Ethiopian brass, twittering electronics and, rising above the 12-piece band with easy magnificence, the amazing vocals of Nubiya Brandon. It’s all tight as you like and heart-liftingly good.

Jon Kenzie - his debut album ‘Not Much Technical Stuff’ says a lot about the straightfor-ward rocking funk grooves underpinning Jon’s soul and blues influenced original songs.

This is the pure unvarnished sound of an old-time American campfire picnic, where every hearty ‘Yee’ has a gut-bustin’ ‘Ha!’ to match and even if you can’t do a buck and a wing you can still step up to the beat.

Duval Project - This combo pulled together by trumpeter Gary Alesbrook recalls his time with Lynden David Hall and other contemporary R’n’B artists with a super tight rhythm section and the spot-on vocal talents of Marie Lister.

Perhaps Contraption - This lot should be Dutch or something - they have that kind of dislocated strangeness. Think of an 8-piece brass band just out of Art College with degrees in Randomness, Surrealism, Hilarity and Music. Now double it. Famed for rambling perfor-mances that no stage could contain, giving circus a good and bad name simultaneously: the clue is in the name. Apparently.

Tail Feather/Perfect Life - Interesting ‘generation gap’ double bill, taking their lead from the hippy-rooted rock of the likes of Pink Floyd and Crazy Horse while Londoners Perfect Life have the New British riffiness and distant vocals of Pulp, Joy Division or Siouxsie Sioux. Both bands are equally tight as you like, however, and make properly catchy groovers as a matter of course.
