P&C News Last week’s Halloween Disco was a great success, which seems to be growing every year. Everyone seemed to be having a great time, and we’re grateful to the Hamilton North Bowling Club for allowing us to close off the back of the club and use the premises free-of-charge. This event would not have been possible without the planning and managing by Nat Edwards and her band of generous volunteers – the P&C is certainly grateful for your ef-forts!

Newy’s Workwear, which has moved a few shops down to the corner of Broadmeadow and Boreas Roads in Hamilton North, will continue as our supplier of the official school shirt. Current stocks are good with an order in to ensure plenty of availability before school goes back in term 1. The P&C will continue Uniform Assistance, which will be managed by Mrs Deakin on our behalf. The current price for shirts is $27.50ea, which will be re-viewed by the P&C at the next general meeting. The P&C will also arrange for a collection of shirts that families may like to donate to a 2nds shop, that the P&C will possibly run pending volunteer assistance early in 2018.

Tim Crakanthorp’s office has been in touch late last week as the RMS has finally completed its review into the speed zones on Griffiths Road, and the recommendation is for the 70km/h to be reduced to 60km/h. This is short of the school zone we sought, though if there’s enough community support and assistance to keep pursuing the school zone then we will consider what other actions we can take. If you want to help the P&C pursue it further, please make yourself heard.

Speaking of road safety, please park and drive on Jackson Street with care and respect for the sake of all of our community. U-turns mid-street and parking in the no-stopping zone which reduces visibility of children exiting the premises is dangerous. No amount of supervision can stop kids being impulsive at the 3pm bell, so please show your respect and care for other families by adhering to road rules and signage – for our kids’ sake.

There are a number of events on the horizon that we invite you to assist the P&C to manage, including the Corn Stall at the Digital Film Festival, Carols Night, and the Year 6 Disco. Please approach Nat Edwards or anyone in-volved with the P&C to help make the nights special for the whole community.

Have a great week! Scott Norrish PresidentHNPS P&C Assoc. (Inc.)m. 0402 129 069e. [email protected]
