Why Invest In NSW?

NSW has the largest economy in Australia.

Valued at $360 billion. This is one-third larger than that of the next state, and Sydney alone accounts for almost one quarter of Australia's GDP.

Both the Queensland and Australian Government constantly reinvest in the infrastructure required for an expanding population and a growing economy.

Overview

Th e e c o n o m y o f N S W i s h i g h l y diversified, with strengths in a broad range of industries. It is one of the world’s leading service economies with strengths in finance and business services, communicat ions and in format ion technology. At the same time, the State b o a s t s s i g n i fi c a n t s t r e n g t h s i n manufacturing and processing, as well as in agricultural and minerals production. New industries as diverse as biotechnology, aquaculture and digital media are also flourishing.

Players

Sydney is Australia’s business and finance capital. According to figures compiled by Ibis World, New South Wales is home to 48% of the top 500 enterprises in Australia by revenue. This figure includes many foreign-owned companies, which use New South Wales as a base for expanding Asia Pacific operations. Multinational corporations with a major presence in New South Wales span all industries and include IBM, Coca-Cola Amatil, ING, Nestle, Allianz and Vodafone just to name a few.

There has never been a better time to invest in New South Wales.

Powerhouse

Situated on the doorstep of Asia, Austral ia 's largest e c o n o m y i s a re g i o n a l powerhouse in one of the most stable political and regulatory environments in the world. Most importantly, its rich industry diversity has been instrumental in achieving a s tagger ing 23 years of uninterrupted growth, giving it a AAA sovereign credit rating from global agencies S t a n d a rd & Po o r ' s a n d Moody's.

Price Growth

It seems that price growth in Sydney is simply refusing to s l o w d o w n , w i t h m a n y property pundits pointing the finger at low interest rates. So how will rates dictate future price growth in the NSW capital?

The One To Watch

Because of its diversity and solidity, Albury-Wodonga avoids the volatility of single-industry economies. Albury-Wodonga ticks all the boxes. Its population (around 85,000) is growing at rates above national averages. Its location is strategic. I ts connectivity is good. It sits beside a lake and a river runs through it.

Why Invest Albury?

A Major Regional City

Albury is a major regional city in New South Wales, Australia, located on the Hume Highway on the northern side of the Murray River. It is located wholly within the boundaries of the C i t y o f A l b u r y L o c a l Government Area.

Albury is the second major city of the Riverina and the second largest inland city in New South Wales, behind Wagga Wagga.

Albury has a urban population of 53,507 people.

It is separated from its twin city in Victoria, Wodonga by the Murray River. Together the two cities form an urban area with a population of more than 90,000.

It is 554 kilometres (344 mi) from the state capital Sydney and 326 kilometres (203 mi) from the Victorian capital Melbourne.

About Albury

Did you know that Albury was once in contention to become Australia's national capital?

The reasons why are easy to understand. After all, Albury sits at the epicentre of the Sydney-Melbourne-Adelaide triangle where 75% of all Australians live. Another attraction is the region's distinctive natural beauty, with the majestic Murray winding through alpine terrain to the east and fertile river plains to the west.

Living in Albury today means enjoying not only this stunning natural setting but also all the amenities of a thriving modern city.

Diversity is the key to residential property investment success

Advantage

It's in the city's favour that, while its population growth r a t e e x c e e d s n a t i o n a l averages, it's not the boom g r o w t h t h a t i n s p i r e s developers to procreate an over-supply. There are many new res ident ia l estates sprouting but they appear to be in balance with genuine demand and vacancy rates are low

Employment

In regional NSW, major population centres such a Albury stand to win from investments in local infrastructure. Albury has become a major regional transport and business hub thanks to an ongoing commitment to improved government infrastructure such as the impending extensions to A l b u r y H o s p i t a l a n d improvements to the Hume Highway, which is t h e m a j o r r o a d l i n k between Melbourne and Sydney.

Employment is spread over a range of sectors in Albury, with the majority of the city’s 21,293 workers are employed in health care and social assistance industries, followed by retail sector workers.

To further ensure the strength of the region’s economy, the local government has outlined a Digital Economy Strategy, intended to help businesses “transition into a world that is increasingly digitised”. Albury City and Wodonga City committed to a range of initiatives that it predicts will contribute to Albury-Wodonga’s economy by as much as $571 million per year.

There's a newsprint mill, an abattoir, a massive Woolworths distribution warehouse and a cardboard box factory. Mars Corporation has its corporate HQ in the city, Bunnings has two major warehouses and the military economy includes Latchford Barracks.
