OverviewEnabling the SAP Hardware Partner for Pre-Installation

The SAP HANA appliance installation process:Select your favorite hardware partner and HW configuration of choice and receive a turnkey solution, pre-installed by the corresponding hardware partner.

The SAP HANA unified installer helps the partner to install the SAP HANA appliance software in a unified and predefined way, while covering all components of SAP HANA platform edition, as well as the Solution Manager Diagnostics Agent.

The SAP HANA on-site configuration tool can be later used to change/adapt any customer specific configuration like SID, hostname and/or SAP Solution Manager connectivity, which usually not available within factory.

The components of SAP HANA and of the SAP HANA database can only be installed by certified hardware partners on validated hardware running a specific operating system. Any other system or content developed with such systems is not supported by SAP.

The SAP hardware partners deliver the SAP HANA appliance software together with corresponding, validated hardware as a pre-packaged solution to the customer site. The exact bill of material for hardware components, the operating system, additional software components, such as a file system, and the SAP HANA software itself is provided by the hardware partners. The initial hardware sizing for SAP HANA is performed by the SAP hardware partner based on the information specified in the order submitted by the customer. The values and parameters required to estimate the hardware sizing are requested from the customer by means of the SAP sizing guide for SAP HANA.The hardware shipped together with the SAP HANA appliance software is dedicated to its purpose. No other software, including SAP software or multiple instance of SAP HANA appliance software should be installed, if not explicit stated in the documentation.
