Teachers shall strive to create a classroom environment which is conducive to learning. This in-cludes control of the pupils, physical condition of the room and good teacher-pupil relationships.
Teachers shall strive to improve their professional practices. This includes the development of lesson plans, completion of required reports on time, practicing standards of professional con-duct, support of school policies or the making of suggestions for their improvement through ap-propriate channels.
Teachers shall strive to develop and propagate good staff relationships. This includes the ability to work with other teachers on committees and special projects, willingness to make concessions in teaching methods and or materials in order to integrate the curriculum, etc.
Teachers shall strive for continuous professional growth. This includes participation in profes-sional organizations, attendance at workshops, summer school, reading, travel, participation in cultural and recreational activities of the community.
Teachers shall strive to improve their personal characteristics. This includes speech, personal ap-pearance, physical stamina, emotional stability, adaptability, interest and enthusiasm.
Teachers shall be encouraged to take an active part in the students' activity program. This in-cludes the assumption of responsibility for extracurricular activities in this part of the total school program.
Teachers shall assume their fair share of curriculum work. This includes work on system-wide or state-wide study groups, departmental study groups, etc.
Teachers shall assume their share of committee and supervisory assignments. This includes work on faculty and system-wide committees, supervision of halls, cafeterias, and playgrounds, etc.
Teachers shall strive to become more adaptable. This includes accepting constructive criticism, accepting administrative directives, and the ability to change.
Teachers shall be delegated and accept loco parentis authority. This includes being in the class-room during designated teaching times, and accept responsibility for students once they have entered the classroom.
Teachers shall file their transcripts and teaching certificates with the Superintendent prior to the beginning of the school year.
Teachers shall not send pupils on errands during school hours, except on official school business, and then not beyond school premises.
9
• Teachers must receive permission from the Principal or Superintendent to perform any extra curricular activities involving the students.
• Teachers shall take an inventory of all equipment, supplies, and materials left at the end of each school year, and shall make their requests for the ensuing year on the results of this inventory.
• Teachers shall be issued a key or keys to their room and building, and will be responsible for their key(s).
• The teacher work day will consist of seven (7) hours and thirty (30) minutes. Teachers will be required to be at the school site no earlier than fifteen (15) minutes before the first bell on regular school days, 20 minutes before the first bell if you are on duty. Special permission to arrive later or depart earlier must be given by the Superintendent and/or the building Princi- pal.
• Vocational teachers in the District shall abide by the regulations of the State Vocational Department and also those of the Board.
• Teachers are expected to perform their classroom and supervisory duties, but when not, i.e., lunch time, they are not restricted to the campus. Teachers may leave during planning period for just cause by notifying the building Principal of their destination.
• Be in halls during class changes.
• Do not leave your class unsupervised for any reason.
• Be on duty according to your schedule. If for any reason you cannot take that duty, you are responsible for getting a replacement.

• Keep grade books up to date. Each student should have at least two substantial grades each week.
Do not keep students late, thereby making them either absent or tardy to their next class. If a teacher needs a student to help them, it must be cleared ahead of time with that student’s next teacher. That student will not be counted absent.
Keep students in class. Instructional time has been reduced to 45 minutes per class, therefore
restrict hall time for students to help maximize learning opportunities.
10
Be sure you keep students in their seats until the bell rings. Do not let students out of class early.
Care of Classroom: Teachers should see that students keep the area around their desks free of

monitoring system can make this a simple routine task. Teachers should also make periodic
checks for marks on the desks and walls. Try to keep students’ desks away from the walls.
Cleanliness of offices and labs are the responsibility of the individual teacher or teachers who use
them. Teachers should not overlook intentional damage to desks, chairs and other school prop-
erty. Please report damage immediately to your building principal. An inventory will be made at
the close of each school year. Teachers are not to transfer equipment to or from their classroom
without permission from the principal.
Teachers must sign up in advance to reserve the computer lab. The signup calendar is located in
the HS office Furthermore, note location of students while utilizing computers.

ton Public Schools utilizes TLE.
Requests from other classes: Teachers will refrain from asking for students from other classes
until it is cleared through the office. After contacting the office, the teacher of the class in which
that student belongs must be contacted either personally or in writing. The sole responsibility
lies with the teacher and they have the right to refuse any request. The office should be notified
of larger groups kept due to unusual circumstances.
Money: Students are not allowed to handle school money. It is the responsibility of the teacher/
sponsor to deliver money to your building secretary/registrar. All money must be counted and
receipted by the sponsor and turned into your building secretary/registrar by 10:30 a.m.
All money must be turned in promptly and NOT held in classrooms. More than $50 must be
turned in the day it is collected, and ALL money, regardless of amount, must be turned in weekly.

Ordering Procedures
Items MAY NOT BE ORDERED until your PO has been approved by your building principal, the super-intendent, and a purchase order # has been assigned.
#1 The company name, and phone number must be listed
#2 List all items to be purchased, including item number, description and unit price. Extend the quantity ordered times the unit price under the “Total” column. Attach any quotes or order forms to the requisition.
#3 Add all items listed in the “Total” column and enter this figure on the “Subtotal” line. THERE MUST BE AN AMOUNT ON THIS LINE.
#4 Calculate 15% shipping on the “Subtotal” amount and enter this figure on the “Estimated Shipping” line. IF YOU KNOW FOR SURE there will be no shipping charges, enter “0” on this line. THERE MUST BE AN AMOUNT ON THIS LINE.
#5 Add “Subtotal” and “Shipping” together and enter this figure on the “Total Amount of Pur- chase Order” line. THERE MUST BE AN AMOUNT ON THIS LINE.
#6 Ordering instructions must be indicated in the “Order Instructions” box. A breakdown in Communication could result in your order(s) not being placed.
#7 If the order needs to be coded to a specific State or Federal program, indicate which program on the “Program To Code” line. If the order needs to be coded to more than one program, attach a separate sheet indicating the program and amount, and attach to the requisition.
#8 A copy of the requisition will be returned to you. If there is a “Purchase Order” number listed in the upper right and corner, your request has been approved for purchase. See the “Order In-structions” box for purchase status. If there is NO “Purchase Order” number listed, your request is missing information. Supply the missing information and return the requisition form to Admin for a purchase order number.
YOU MAY NOT PLACE THE ORDER UNTIL YOU HAVE A PURCHASE ORDER NUMBER.
CHECKING IN ORDER: When you receive the approved copy of the requisition (you will know it is approved if there is a PO # in the upper right hand corner), keep the form until you have received your order IN FULL. Attach a copy of the packing slip to this order copy and return to Admin. Indi-cate that items have been received by marking them off, signing and dating the packing slip. Write on the packing slip that the order is “Ready for Payment”. If you do not receive a packing slip with your order, follow the same procedure using the requisition copy.
PAYMENT: Orders will not be paid until verification has been received from you that the order has been received in good condition and is ready for payment. YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO CHECK OUT AT THE END OF THE YEAR WITH OPEN PURCHASE ORDERS.
YEAR END: This procedure will apply to year end “WANT” supplies requested. You will need to ob-tain a catalog and properly fill out a requisition form (including item numbers, prices, etc.) before requests will be considered for purchase.
