1. Einleitung
LIDL ist sich seiner Verantwortung für Mensch und Umwelt bewusst. Ein Teil unserer Grunds-
ätze ist Kunden, Arbeitnehmer und die Umwelt zu schützen. Daher verpflichten wir uns zu
einer systematischen Änderung, um den Einsatz von schädlichen Chemikalien zu verhin-
dern. Hierfür etablierte LIDL chemische Begrenzungen für alle Eigenmarkenprodukte (Be-
kleidung, Heimtextilien und Schuhe).
Dieses Handbuch besteht aus mehreren Teilen in Bezug auf Produkttypen. Es informiert den
Hersteller über die chemischen Begrenzungen für die LIDL Eigenmarken (Bekleidung, Heim-
textilien und Schuhe) welche in der Lieferkette (MRSL) und im Endprodukt erfüllt werden
müssen, aber auch über alternativen.
Die offizielle und gültige Version dieses Dokuments ist in englischer Sprache verfasst. Jede
Übersetzung des Dokuments ist nur als Referenz zu sehen. Es wird keine Verantwortung für
die Korrektheit des übersetzten Dokuments übernommen.
2. Verpflichtung
Indem der Lieferant die allgemeinen Bedingungen von LIDL akzeptiert, verpflichtet er sich dem
Handbuch für chemische Restriktionen von LIDL zu entsprechen. Der Lieferant ist verpflich-
tet sicherzustellen, dass das Handbuch eingehalten wird und dass alle vorgelagerten Liefe-
ranten und Subunternehmer über den Inhalt des Handbuch der chemischen Restriktionen
von LIDL informiert sind. Indem der Lieferant die allgemeinen Bedingungen von LIDL akzep-
tiert, bestätigt er, dass LIDL das Recht hat:
zu jeder Zeit und jeder Phase der Produktion, jedes Produkt und jeden Bestandteil der Produk-
tion in Produktionsstätten durch eine Partnerinstitution von LIDL inspizieren und testen zu las-
sen.

3. Definitionen
RSL LIDLs Liste eingeschränkt verwendbarer Substanzen (“Restricted Substances List” - RSL) beschreibt genau, welche chemische Restrik-tionen für das Endprodukt inkl. Schuhe gelten, welche direkt oder indirekt an LIDL geliefert werden.
MRSL LIDLs Liste eingeschränkt verwendbarer Substanzen für die Produk-tion (Manufacturing Restricted Substances List - MRSL) beschreibt genau, welche Restriktionslimits für die chemischen Formulierun-gen gelten, die während des Produktionsprozesses für LIDL Textilien und Lederprodukte eingesetzt werden. Und dabei nicht nur diejeni-gen Substanzen, die im Endprodukt vorhanden sein können.
Die MRSL muss bei allen direkten und indirekten Lieferanten von LIDL Produkten implementiert werden.
RL Das „reporting limit“ beschreibt die niedrigste Konzentration von Chemikalien, welche in einem Labor nachgewiesen werden kann.
Nutzungsverbot Ein Nutzungsverbot weist darauf hin, dass die chemische Substanz oder Substanzgruppe von der MRSL-Liste nicht verwendet werden darf um eine bestimmte Funktion oder einen bestimmten Effekt während der Produktion des Rohmaterials oder des Produkts zu er-reichen, somit keine vorsätzliche Verwendung. Das Nutzungsverbot beinhaltet auch andere Verwendungen in einem Werk wie die Rei-nigung und Instandhaltung. Bestimmte Produktionsverfahren kön-nen nach Stand der Technik dazu führen, dass in chemischen For-mulierungen geringfügige Anteile der eingeschränkten Substanzen zu finden sind. Chemische Formulierungen die eingeschränkte Sub-stanzen enthalten welche das angegebene Limit überschreiten sind nicht konform mit der LIDL MRSL.

5. MRSL für die Textilien- und synthetische Lederproduktion
Die Manufacturing Restricted Substances List enthält bedenkliche Chemikalien, welche mög-
licherweise bei der Produktion eingesetzt werden. Durch das Verbot des bewussten Einsat-
zes dieser Chemikalien möchte LIDL Mensch und Umwelt schützen. Kein bewusster Einsatz
heißt, dass der Einsatz folgender Substanzen der MRSL bei LIDL Produktionen verboten
ist und sie nicht in LIDL Produktionsstätten gefunden werden dürfen.

6. MRSL für die Lederproduktion
Die Manufacturing Restricted Substances List enthält bedenkliche Chemikalien, welche mög-
licherweise bei der Produktion eingesetzt werden. Durch das Verbot des bewussten Einsat-
zes dieser Chemikalien möchte LIDL Mensch und Umwelt schützen. Kein bewusster Einsatz
heißt, dass der Einsatz folgender Substanzen der MRSL bei LIDL Produktionen verboten
ist und sie nicht in LIDL Produktionsstätten gefunden werden dürfen.

Dieser Abschnitt spezifiziert die Testmethoden und Nachweisgrenzen, die bei Tests von be-
grenzten Substanzen in Abwasser und Schlamm angewendet werden sollen Die Wasser-
tests beinhalten das Testen von Frischwasser und das Wasser vor und nach der Behand-
lung.
LIDL wird jährlich alle Produktionsstäten mit Naßprozessen testen lassen. Hierfür wird der

11. Verwendung der positiven Chemikalien
Empfehlungslisten mit chemischen Formulierungen sind über die CSR Datenbank von LIDL er-
hältlich. Hier werden Informationen über chemische Produkte zur Verfügung gestellt, wel-
che durch Chemikalienlieferanten empfohlen werden und welche konform mit der LIDL-
MRSL sind. Diese chemischen Alternativen tragen, basierend auf der LIDL MRSL, dazu bei
bedenkliche Substanzen aus der Lieferkette zu verbannen. Auch alle anderen Empfehlungs-
listen die nicht über die CSR Datenbank von LIDL erhältlich sind, aber auf der ZDHC MRSL
basieren können den Produzenten unterstützen um alternative Chemikalien einzusetzen.
Anhang 1. Wo sind die Risiken?
In der Bekleidungs- und Schuhwarenlieferkette gibt es bestimmte Faserarten und Materialien,
die eher dazu neigen bedenkliche Substanzen zu enthalten. Die folgende Matrix zeigt die
Risiken der begrenzten Substanzen und die dazugehörigen Fasern und Materialien.

Chlorierte aromatische Kohlenwasserstoffe werden als
Färbebeschleuniger für Polyester oder Wolle/Polyester-
fasern verwendet. Sie können auch als Lösemittel ver-
wendet werden.
Chlorparaffine, kurzkettig (SCCP)
Chlorparaffine, mittelkettig (MCCP)
Chlorparaffine sind Kohlenwasserstoffe mit einer sehr
geraden Kohlenwasserstoffkette. Sie werden verwendet
in:
Flammschutzmittel Fettungsmittel für Leder und Pelz
Chromium VI (Cr6+) Chrom ist ein in der Natur vorkommendes Metall, von
dem es drei Formen gibt (Chrom 0, Chrom III, Chrom VI).
In der Natur kommt bevorzugt Chrom III vor, die beiden
anderen Formen sehr selten oder gar nicht Verwendung:
Ledergerbung (kann zu Chrom VI oxidieren)
Dimethylformamid (DMF) DMF ist ein Lösemittel und wird für Kunststoffe, Gummi
und Polyurethanbeschichtungen (PU) verwendet.
Wasserbasierendes PU enthält kein DMF und wird daher
empfohlen
Dimethylfumarate (DMFu) DMFu ist ein Anti-Schimmelmittel, es verhindert die
Schimmelbildung, speziell während des Transports
Farbstoffe – AZO Farbstoffe und Pigmente Dispersionfarbstoffe sind eine Gruppe der wasserlösli-
chen Farbstoffe, die in Synthetik- oder Kunstfasern ein-
dringen und am Platz durch physikalische Kraft gehalten
werden, ohne chemische Verbindungen zu beeinflussen.
Einige Dispersionsfarbstoffe stehen unter Verdacht aller-
gische Reaktionen zu verursachen.

Farbstoffe – Dispersionsfarbstoffe Flammschutzmittel sind chemische Verbindungen, die
mit dem Textil verbunden sind oder aufgetragen werden,
um die Entflammbarkeit zu minimieren. Es wird oft bei
Kinderbekleidung und Zeltstoffen (PU Beschichtung) ver-
wendet um Sicherheitsstandards gerecht zu werden.
Flammschutzmittel Dispersionfarbstoffe sind eine Gruppe der wasserlösli-
chen Farbstoffe, die in Synthetik- oder Kunstfasern ein-
dringen und am Platz durch physikalische Kraft gehalten
werden, ohne chemische Verbindungen zu beeinflussen.
Einige Dispersionsfarbstoffe stehen unter Verdacht aller-
gische Reaktionen zu verursachen.

Metalle
Arsen (As) Arsen ist ein Halbmetall. Es kann als reines Metall, als
Nicht-Metall oder als Arsenverbindung (z.B. in Salzen)
vorhanden sein. Arsen und dessen Verbindungen können
in einigen Konservierungsmittel, Pestiziden und Entlau-
bungsmitteln für Baumwolle verwendet werden. Ebenso
zu finden in synthetischen Fasern, Farben, dekorativen
Elementen, Kunststoffen und Metallkomponenten
Antimon (Sb) Antimon ist ein Halbmetall. Es kann als reines Metall, als
Nicht-Metall oder als Antimonverbindung (z.B. in Salzen)
vorhanden sein. Antimon wird verwendet als:
Katalysator in der Polmerisation von Polyester
Flammschutzmittel Fixierer Pigmente Legierungen.
Cadmium (Cd) Cadmium kommt in der Natur reichlich vor und ist schwer
rostend. Es kann als reines Metall oder als Cadmiumver-
bindung (z.B. in Salzen) vorhanden sein.
Cadmiumverbindungen findet man in oder werden ver-
wendet als: Pigmente (rot, orange, gelb und grün)
Stabilisierungsmittel für PVC Düngemittel
Biozide Legierungen zur Metallisierung von anderen Me-
tallen Farbstoffe (z.B. für Reißverschluss- und Knopfober-
fächen)
Chrom (Cr) Chrom ist ein Metall, das als reines Metal oder als Chrom-
verbindungen vorhanden sein kann (z.B. in Salzen) (s.
auch Chrom VI). Chromverbindungen können verwendet

Cobalt (Co) Cobalt ist ein in der Natur vorkommendes Metall, das als
reines Metall oder als Cobaltverbindunge vorhanden sein
kann (z.B. in Salzen). Cobalt als Metall kann in Legierun-
gen verwendet werden Cobaltverbindungen können in
Pigmenten für Farbmittel verwendet werden
Cobaltsalz wird in der Herstellung von Kunstoffknöpfen
zur Aushärtung von ungesättigtem Polyester verwendet.
Blei (Pb) Blei ist ein in der Natur vorkommendes Metall, das als
reines Metall oder als Bleiverbindungen vorhanden sein
kann (z.B. in Salzen) Blei wird in Verbindung gebracht mit
Kunstoffen, Farbstoffen, Pigmenten, Oberflächenbe-
schichtungen und Metallkomponenten
Quecksilber (Hg) Quecksilber ist ein in der Natur vorkommendes Metall,
das als reines Metall oder als Quecksilberverbindungen
vorhanden sein kann (z.B. in Salzen)
Quecksilberverbindungen können in Pestiziden vorhan-
den sein und als Kontamination in Natronlauge gefunden
werden. Sie können verwendet werden für Farbstoffe
(z.B. für Reißverschluss- und Knopfoberfächen)
Nickel (Ni) Nickel ist ein Metall, das häufig vorkommt. Es kann als
reines Metall oder als Nickelverbindung vorhanden sein
(z.B. in Salzen). Es wird oft mit anderen Metallen verbun-
den um den Härtegrad und die Korrosionsbeständigkeit
zu verbessern. Bestimmte Farbstoffe enthalten komplex
gebundenes Nickel. Nickel als Metall und Nickelverbin-
dungen können als Verunreinigungen in Pigmenten und
Legierungen auftreten.
Zinnorganische Verbindungen Organozinn ist eine Gruppe von Chemikalien, die Zinn
und organischen Stoffen wie Buthyl- und Phenylgruppen
verbindet.
Sie sind bevorzugt in Kunstsfoffen/Gummi, Farbstoffen,
Glitter, Polyurethan Produkten und wärmeleitenden Ma-
terialien zu finden.
Phenole
Pentachlorophenol (PCP)
Tetrachlorophenol (TeCP)
O-phenylphenol (OPP)
Phenole sind Stoffe, die als Konservierungsmittel oder
Pestizide verwendet werden. PCP und TeCP sind poly-
chlorinierte Verbindungen, die manchmal zur Schimmel-
vermeidung und als Insektenschutzmittel beim Baum-
wollanbau oder beim Lagern/Transportieren von Texti-
lien verwendet werden. Sie können aber auch als Konser-
vierungsmittel für Druckpasten eingesetzt werden.
OPP kann, wegen seiner konservierenden Wirkung, bei
der Lederproduktion verwendet werden, dient aber auch
als Farbbeschleuniger im Färbeprozess.

Phthalate Phthalate sind eine Gruppe von organischen Stoffen, die
üblicherweise Kunststoffen zugefügt werden, um die Fle-
xibilität zu erhöhen und manchmal auch um das Formen
von Kunststoffen zu erleichtern, indem man die Schmelz-
temperatur vermindert. Phthalate können in folgenden
Komponenten gefunden werden:
flexible Kunststoffkomponenten (z.B. PVC) Druckpasten
Haftmittel (Kleber) Kunststoffknöpfe
Beschichtungen.
Polyvinyl Chlorid (PVC) PVC ist ein chloriniertes Polymer. PVC kann in Kunstof-
felementen und dekorativen Elementen für Bekleidung
und Schuhe gefunden werden.
PVC wird üblicherweise eingesetzt in: Badges
Pailletten Zipperpullern Etiketten
wasserdichte Beschichtungen Drucken
PU-Leder Flip-Flops/Schuhe.
Perfluorverbindungen (PFCs)
Perfluoroctansulfonate (PFOS)
Perfluoroctansäure (PFOA)
PFOS wird als Bindemittel für Textilverbundststoffe ver-
wendet um Färbe- und Netzmittel zu unterstützen um
das Eindringen von Substanzen in das Material zu verbes-
sern. PFOA wird für die Produktion von Flourpolymeren
verwendet, die als Imprägniermittel auf Textilien benö-
tigt werden, als Wasserabweisung.
Polychlorinted Biphenyle (PCBs)
Polychlorinated Triphenyle (PCTs)
PCB's und PCT's sind große Moleküle und enthalten vie-
len Chloratome. Sie werden hauptsächlich als Pestizide,
aber auch als Weichmacher, Farbbeschleuniger und
Flammschutzmittel verwendet.
Polycyclische aromatische Kohlenwasserstoffe (PAKs) PAK's sind natürliche Rohölkomponenten und sind übli-
che Rückstände der Erdölraffination. PAK's haben einen
charakteristischen Geruch vergleichbar mit dem Geruch
von Autoreifen oder Asphalt.
Ölrückstände die PAK's enthalten, werden in Gummi und
Kunststoff als Weichmacher hinzugefügt.
Daher sind PAK's in Gummi, Kunststoff, Lacken und Be-
schichtungen vorhanden. PAK's werden oft in Außensoh-
len von Schuhen und in Druckpasten von Siebdrucken ge-
funden.
Lösemittel / Glycole Kohlenstoffhaltige Lösemittel werden weitgehend in der
chemischen Vorbehandlung verwendet. Sie werden au-
ßerdem in vielen Prozessen, wie der chemischen Reini-
gung, verwendet. Einige kohlenstoffhaltige Lösemittel
sind stark flüchtig. Lösemittel werden als Reinigungsmit-
