Hannah Höch

I have recently been researching photo manipulation artists, and one of the ones that really stood out for me was Hannah Hoch.

Born in Germany, 1889, Hannah Hoch was one of the defining artists in what she did. She specialised in collage/photo montage style pieces.

One of the most prominent things she is known for is her involvement in the “Dada Movement”. The Dada Movement was an art movement in the early 20th century. It was a movement against war and for art. It included public gatherings, demonstrations and publication of literary journals.

I have picked Hannah Hoch because her work represents a lot of what I am doing currently with image manipulation, by getting things of one image and sticking them on another.
