Nestled high in the Eastern Himalayas lies the beautiful Kingdom of Bhutan known as Drukyul or the Land of the Thunder Dragon.Whether you’re a nature lover, an adventurist or simply want to soak up the culture, the Tourism Council of Bhutan invites you to experience this truly unique country. Bhutan offers some of the world’s best hotels and resorts mixed with delicious cuisine (with many vegetarian options), which makes for an unforgettable vacation.

There are a few things you should know before travelling to Bhutan. Bhutan does not restrict tourists, in fact, it embraces them and it is not hard to get a tourist visa.You must book your travel through a tour operator and flights into the country are operated by Druk Air. There is a minimum daily package rate to visit the country which is explained below.

The Minimum Daily Package Rate Includes:A minimum of 3 star accommodationAll mealsA licensed Bhutanese Tour Guide for the extent of the stayAll internal transportCamping equipment and haulage for trekking toursAll internal taxes and chargesA royalty of $65 (which is included in the price)

This royalty goes toward poverty alleviation, free education and healthcare.

How much is the Minimum Package Rate?For a group of 3 persons or more:

· USD $250 per person per night for the months of March, April, May, September, October and November.· USD $200 per person per night for the months of January, February, June, July, August and December.· The rates are applicable per tourist per night halt in Bhutan.· Groups of two or less shall be subject to a surcharge, over and above the minimum daily rates applicable, as follows:

· Individual, US$ 40 per night · 2 persons, US$ 30 per person per night
