Ever have trouble finding the worship video for the week? We're trying to make things more accessible and easier to find on our website so we've added the worship video of the week to our homepage. Every week (typically a day or two prior to Sundays worship), a new video will be uploaded. Just click on the video and it plays..., it's that simple! KITSAP CONSERVATION DISTRICT + EAGLE SCOUT PROJECT = NEW RAIN GARDEN FOR SLC! We are excited to announce that a rain garden is being installed in the south median of our parking this week. This is Nathan Johnson’s Eagle scout project and he has consulted with the Kitsap Conservation District, Lisa Gregg Property Manager, and SLC Trustees. The KCD and fellow scout volunteers are doing the labor. We are very excited about this addition that will help limit the pollution of runoff from our parking lot. Thank you Nathan and we look forward to your becoming an Eagle Scout!

Ever have trouble finding the worship video for the week? We're trying to make things more accessible and easier to find on our website so we've added the worship video of the week to our homepage.

FINANCIAL NEWS

Below is a 3-year financial comparison of income vs. expenses through the end of May each year. Ministry, operations, and benevolence expenses were $72,097 for the month of May, exceeding income offering by $939. However, net income for 2020 remains very positive at $31,234 greater than expenses for the year. In May 2020 we saw much greater offerings during the first couple of weeks and less during the latter weeks. The figures below do not include inclusion of the $106,000 Payroll Protection Plan grant (PPP) received from the Small Business Administration in early May. As COVID19 continues to make for an uncertain future, the

PPP funds will provide SLC with a fiscal safety net. The Council Outreach benevolence paid $1,085 each to the Birkenfeld-Stella Maris House and Kitsap Rescue Shelter in May.

Not all heroes wear capes. Some make face masks.

Many people in developing countries don’t have the option of social distancing or frequent handwashing to slow the spread of COVID-19. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention now says cloth face masks, along with hand washing and social distancing may help reduce transmission. LWR needs your help to sew cloth face masks to help us reach men, women and children in vulnerable communities. After all, Lutheran World Relief was founded 75 years ago to help neighbors around the globe who were suffering during

World War II. What will be our generation’s legacy during this time of crisis?

The Olympic Lutherhaven Board of Directors made the difficult decision to close the camp for overnight use for the rest of 2020. This was not an easy decision and we understand many of you will be disappointed. We thank you for your prayers and your support of Olympic Lutherhaven. We are exploring options for limited day use of the property starting in July.

Sunday Coffee Hour update! In order to accommodate our parking lot worship time and

Pastor Bill’s Sunday Education class, we have adjusted the
