  • Components of PMKSY Water Resource:

    Source augmentation, distribution, ground water development, lift irrigation, diversion of water from water plenty to water scarce areas, supplementing rain water harvesting beyond IWMP, MGNREGA, repair, restoration, renovation of traditional water bodies.

    Per Drop More Crop (Micro Irrigation)

    Installation of Micro Irrigation Systems (Drip & Sprinkler) in fields, extension activities, coordination & management.

    Watershed

    Ridge area treatment, drainage line treatment, soil and moisture conservation, water harvesting structure, livelihood support activities and other watershed works.

  • Status of PMKSY Implementation

    • National Executive Committee under Chairmanship of vice-chairman of NITI Aayog notified. Its first meeting expected in September 2015.

    • Meeting of Inter-Ministerial Committee held to expedite programme implementation.

    • Website of PMKSY – Http://www.pmksy.gov.in operationalised.

    • Management Information System for capturing information of various departments for PMKSY firmed up.

    • Constitution of National Steering committee approved.

    • Training programme for preparation of District Irrigation Plan for 1st Batch of IAS officers started.

    • Release of funds under different components of PMKSY started by various departments for programme implementation .

    • MI component of OFWM subsumed under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana (PMKSY) since 1 April 2015
