SANDEE SAYS:I often get bombarded with questions from my design and real estate clients regarding the trends and updates that they should be aware of in today’s market. So I will share some of the most common concerns and inspiration that I share with them…HERE!! Hope you find some answers to your questions…
Q: I want to add color to my room, like I see in decorator magazines, but I do not want to commit to painting the walls. That much color scares me and what if I change my mind after it’s done?
A: If taking on that much color sounds overwhelming, I suggest adding the colors you want in smaller portions. Keep the walls and large furniture pieces a neutral tan, grey or cream. Add a mix of colors, patterns and textures with pillows, throws, art and décor to achieve the colorful addition you are looking for. If you change your mind, or the newer trends move you, you have created a good neutral palette base to start again, without a huge investment.

LET US DO THE COOKING Started in June 2006 by converting our garage into a commercial kitchen and cooking dinner for families. As we began receiving catering requests we soon realized that we had found our niche in the community by providing quality home cooked food for catered events. In 2009 we expanded our operation to include a lunch time cafe which allowed us to expand our footprint in the community. However after 5 years in the restaurant business we decided it was time to get back to what we do best, which is providing quality home cooked food and amazing service at catered events of every size and variety!

Directions
1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Butter or grease one 10x15 inch jelly roll pan.
2. In a mixing bowl, beat together the eggs, sugar, pumpkin and lemon juice.
3. Sift together the flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger. Add to wet ingredients and mix well. Spread into pan and bake for 15 to 20 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool enough to handle.
4. Remove cake from pan and place on tea towel (cotton, not terry cloth). Roll up the cake by rolling a towel inside cake and place seam side down to cool.
5. Prepare the frosting by blending together the sugar, butter, cream cheese and vanilla.
6. Before completely cool, unroll cake and spread with cream cheese filling and roll up again without towel. Wrap with plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to serve. Sprinkle with confectioners sugar and slice into 8 to 10 servings.
