Every Saturday morning after Shabbat services, each bunk at Harlamgathers for Sicha Time. This is an opportunity to reflect on the past week'shighlights and challenges, and look ahead to the excitement of the weekto come. This sacred time at camp is a tradition easily adapted for virtualgatherings. Host Sicha Time for your camp friends and allow space forreflection, conversation, and meaningful connection.

Some questions you could use to get the conversation started:

Yellow Meal is the quintessential Harlam meal - and it's so easy to makeat home! Download the ingredients and recipes, and spend the nightwith your camp friends on Zoom cooking up a Harlam favorite. Put yourown fun spin on the meal (maybe a veggie burger instead of a chickenpatty or some surprise spices in your mashed potatoes).

Don't forget to pass and stack - you could even race to see who can getthe dishes cleaned up fastest!

What has been something you've had time to do while in quarantine that you might not otherwise have done? What is something you've recently struggled with and overcome? What did you learn? What is something you're hoping to do or accomplish in the coming week? And of course, Rose/Bud/Thorn - Everyone shares a rose (a highlight, success, small win, or somethingpositive that happened), a bud (something you are looking forward to), and a thorn (a challenge experiencedor something you can use support with).

Fundraising Option: To get to choose the nextquestion, you have to make a donation to camp.

Fundraising Option: To get to choose the next song or leadthe next dance, you have to make a donation to camp!

Get your friends together for a virtual take on a classic camp game. Here are a couple suggestions but feel freeto come up with your own (and let us know if you do)!

Sing DownThe host gives a word, such as “summertime” or "happy," and the players must think of as many songs as theycan with that word in them. It doesn’t have to be in the title of the song, just somewhere in the lyrics. Everyonewill write down as many songs as they can think of in 3-5 minutes on your paper. After 3-5 minutes ofbrainstorming, players will go around and take turns sharing one of the songs on their list with the word in it(added fun if they have to sing the lyric). If anyone else has the same song on their list, no one gets a point. Ifthe player is the only one with the song, they get a point. The game continues until everyone has run out ofsongs on their list. You can start again with a new word. You can also use breakout rooms to play in teams!

Pillowcase AuctionThe host tells everyone to take 3 minutes to fill up a pillowcase with anything from around their house they thinkthey might need for the game. When they come back, the host then goes through a list of items they want forthe auction. For each item, if the player put the item in their pillowcase, they can present it and earn a point.Alternatively, instead of filling up a pillowcase, you can go item by item and points go to the first person tocome back to the screen with the item. Some camp item ideas: a camp yearbook, vintage camp gear, a picturefrom camp, a camp fanny pack. General item ideas: jar of peanut butter, cold medicine, a flower, a puzzle.

Fundraising Option: Players can pledge to donate acertain amount for every point they win during the game.

Have a costume theme - award prizes (or even virtual paper plateawards!) for best overall, best theme interpretation, and mostcreative. Don't remember all the dances? Make up your own and teach yourfriends! The more you laugh, the better.

There's nothing like Rak Dan on a Friday night. If you're not familiarwith this camp tradition, check out this video. Get together with yourcamp friends, put on your wildest costumes, and have a dance party!

Check out our Rak Dan playlist on Spotify to get started!

Every session at Harlam is capped off with the cornerstone event of thesummer, Maccabiah (Color War). Everyone at camp is divided into fourdifferent teams - red, gold, blue, and green - to battle it out in amazingcompetitions for three days. On the final night of Maccabiah is the Zimriah, where the teams present a plaque and belt out a Hebrew song, Fight Song(about how awesome your team is), and Alma Mater (about camp), allprepared or written by staff members.

Get your friends together and come up with a theme and teams. Create aplaque and write a Fight Song and/or Alma Mater. Have a competitionbetween friends to see who can come up with the best plaque and songs (doit under a time constraint for added pressure). Then, send us the lyrics and arecording of your song and we'll share it on social media. At the end of thesummer, we'll let the community vote on the winning songs of the summer.May the best songs win!

On the last night of each session, the CITs put on an amazing themedbanquet. Everyone arrives dressed in costume and when the doors of theChadar Ochel open, there's a mad dash to the table to snag soda and candy.Banquet is THE meal of the summer, one that campers and staff anticipatewith excitement.

You can bring the magic of Banquet into your own home and virtually sharethe experience with your camp family.

First, come up with a theme. You can choose a theme from your own CITsummer, your favorite Banquet theme, or come up with a brand new one!Once you have a theme, plan a meal that falls in line with the theme (or justgo with the classics of mozzarella sticks and mac & cheese). Makedecorations to hang behind you or find/create an appropriate virtualbackground. Dress up for the theme as you would at camp. You could evenfind a playlist that aligns with the theme to have playing in the background.

Now comes the easy part - enjoy a meal with your friends!
