Introduction

• WHAT• Harmonisation of European Logistic Labels (HELL)

• WHO• 24 GS1 MO’s participating led by GS1 Poland + GS1 GO

• WHEN• February 2005 – October 2006

• WHY• harmonization of the data content (AIs) and formats of GS1 logistic

Guidelines

• common definitions of standard and non-standard logistic units

• one common approach towards pallet types division:

• 4 types, 7 kinds and 12 examples of logistic units

• one mandatory AI (00) – Serial Shipping Container Code

Next steps for the users

The users should :

• get familiar with the guidelines

• check if their labels are compliant with the standard

• check if their traceability process requires additional data on a label

• check if their partners demand additional data on labels

• refer to their local GS1 MO for some help in case of any discrepancies.
