We have been forced to do lots of reconsideration and make some changes because of Covid-19. We have changed the way we worship because we can’t meet in large groups. Easter Sunday was a mere shadow of what we would have done if things were normal. We have changed the way we keep in touch with our sick folks. We have learned to buy groceries, supplies and medications in a different way. We have learned to get along with each other under one roof. We pray for each other in different ways. But life goes on. Adjustments come and we keep forging ahead. For believers, church leaders, pastors and staff we are faithful to keep the work of the Lord first place. I want to thank all of you for doing what you have to for worship, Bible study and prayer. Whether online, Facebook, texting, email or whatever, we have kept doing what we do to bring our people together. Keep faithful to the ministry in your situation. God did not say it would be easy or that we would not face change.

Church News Broadway: You can read Pastor Gray’s Palm Sunday and Resurrection Day messages on the church website www.broadwaybaptistsedalia.org. I put them on plus the Good Friday service "7 Markers to the Resurrection"--instead of a model of a road Friday, I used a slide show. Our web-site provider chose new website formats. I'll be adding more sermons and studies this week. You can read them online or print them. All the Photo Albums are both photos and slide shows. Until we can worship together again, The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace. (Numbers 6:24-26) Calvary: Calvary Baptist Church has monitored and adjusted moving to online services for Sunday mornings at 10 am and Wednesday nights at 6:00 pm. Participation in online worship has been very good with many new people joining our Facebook page. There is no doubt through comments that many are worshiping in this unique way. We plan to continue online through Facebook Live and You Tube Live. Our plans at this point include having our first worship service back on campus on Mother's Day with two services, 8:30 & 10:00 am practicing social distancing. **Special Thank You to Pastor Rob Ayers, Bothwell’s Chaplin, for seeing Calvary’s members and friends. East Sedalia: On Easter Sunday morning approximately 40 people gathered in their cars on the church parking lot where they heard an inspirational service on their car radios from Pastor Tim. Then at the 10:30 a.m. services we were able to have communion in our homes with our grape juice and crackers. A wonderful time to be observe this ordinance, even though we were not together in our church. Our services have being held on face book, internet and zoom. On April 8th Pastor Tim started a new series on the "I am" statements of Jesus. These are being held in the Wednesday night Bible Study and prayer group. Five women from the church have been making masks. So far they have donated 200 masks to Bothwell Regional Health Center and are still sewing!! The food bank distribution was held at the church on April 14th. Food was given to 150 families, to the men and women at the Embassy and to the Open Door. Twelve members of the church helped with the distribution. Katy Park: We started streaming online live church services every Sunday morning at 11:00 a.m., which started on April 5. We have cancelled all church activities until April 30. Providence: Like many other churches, our church activities have been diminished by the virus that has hit our nation and our world. Easter Sunrise Service was held at 6:30 a.m. An outdoor loud speaker was used by the Pastor to lead the music and give the message. This was a Drive-Up service in which people drove up in their cars and rolled car windows down to hear the sermon and join in with the music. It was well-attended. The Pastor and his wife have mailed out manuscript sermons by the Pastor to those who are on our mailing list. So far, three sermons have been sent. We may have a Drive-Up Service the last Sunday in April, at our regular time of 9:00 a.m. We are praying that our churches will soon see the ban lifted and regular worship services can be resumed. The Pastor and his family were saddened by the news that one of the very faithful men in a church he once served as pastor, contracted and died from the virus.
