Embark on an adventure of Cuba, a country with strong historical, cultural, and political roots. Combine your exploration ofthis unique country by practicing yoga in Havana. This 8-day tour of Havana and the surrounding area begins with morningyoga sessions with a well respected instructor Ernesto Carulla.You will be challenging yourself physically, mentally and spiri-tual in the company of fellow Yogis and Yoginis. Following these sessions you will experience the richness of Cuban history andtraditions by exploring the area with an experienced professional guide. Listen to the live music spill out onto the streets, graba seat at the bar or in the restaurant to sip on a mojito or daiquiri. Each day will have a theme, exposing you to all that is Cuban.

Harmony in Havana is a self-exploration through yoga as well as a blend of cultural, architectural, social immersion. And forthe full immersion, you will stay in recognized approved family homes, casa particulars. Unite your soul and investigate yourcuriosity. Namaste!

DAY 1: Welcome to Cuba! Upon arriving inCuba, make your way to Havana to meet withyou tour guide who will take you to your familyhome to get settled in. Everyone on the tour willbe in close proximity to one another. As a group,there will be an official meet & greet with agroup dinner. (D)

DAY 2: Discover Havana - History and Archi-tecture. Rise and shine! Grab your mat andbegin your day with a yoga session. The focus ofyour sessions will include alignment, asanas,pranayama breathing, meditation and chanting.After your refreshing yoga session return to yourcasa to freshen up. We begin our exploration of Cuba, hop aboardthe AC bus as it is time to visit Habana Vieja, thehistorical centre of Havana. Your local Cubanguide will take the group on a walking tour ofkey historic colonial squares including: CathedralSquare, Plaza Vieja, San Francisco de AssizSquare and Obispo Street up to Floridita bar. Inthe afternoon, visit the Museum de la Ciudad:The ancient Palace of Captain Generals by the

Arms Square. Afterwards, stroll through the Hand-icraft market. Conclude the day with an exciting1-hour tour by an old American convertible alongthe sea promenade. (B)

Day 3: Beach and Art. After breakfast start theday with a yoga practice with the group. In eachpractice the instructor will have a focus for thatday. Continue the mind-body-spiritual experiencewith a time at one of Havana’s Eastern beaches,Playa Santa Maria. Soak up the sun, enjoy thewater, and listen to the rhythms of Cuban musi-cians. Enjoy lunch at the beach or try a localspecialty, called a Tamal. Following this, visit theatelier of famous plastic artists in Havana, meet-ing with the artist. There is opportunity topurchase a piece of work if so desired. Return toHavana for dinner out with your fellow travelers.(B, D)

Day 4: Visit with the Local farmers. With yourmat in hand, pick your spot on the floor for youryoga practice with the group. Under the skillfuleye of the teacher, you will be guided through an

enriching session of movement and mindfulness.Following your yoga, travel by bus to Guanaba-coa to visit a local private farm. Learn of theagricultural practices and how the farmers pro-duce food for their people. Travelers have thechoice of a 45-minute walk or going by horse-back riding or tractor to the next farm. Thefarmers from the first farm at their private pal-adar will provide lunch. The meal consists of suchfoods as ham, salad, and cheeses. The bus willthen transfer back to Havana for the evening isto your own or with the group. (B, L)

DAY 5: All about Hemmingway. After break-fast, step onto your mat. Unite yourself and feelthe energy within and the other yoga practition-ers that surround you. Upon completion of theyoga session Hemingway awaits. Travel by bus tothe Hemmingway Museum outside of Havana.Witness yourself, where Ernest Hemmingway wasinspired to write. Next, you are off to Cojimar, afishing town Hemingway visited. Enjoy lunch ata paladar before returning to Havana. You would-

n’t have the full Hemmingway experience with-out a Daiquiri at the famous bar El Floridita,where the writer used to go every afternoon.After the daiquiri the group will walk to HotelAmbos Mundos, where the writer used to livefor nearly 10 years. On the terrace, there is awonderful view to the old city surrounding theBay. (B, L, D)

DAY 6: Yoga & Nature.When the sun is risingin the sky but the day still cool, it is time foryoga. Listen to the sounds around you and payattention to the sensations of your body. Pre-pare to sweat, mediate, and relax. The day is best followed by a visit to Las Ter-razas, a cooperative project carried out by theRevolution to restore the natural beauty of thesurrounding area devastated by deforestation.Stroll through the community, have a café, andlearn coffee preparation. Sit and relax at arestaurant, once a Coffee farm settled by theFrench in the 19th century. The day will con-clude here with the bus returning to Havana.

Dinner is on your own. Check out and enjoythe Cuban nightlife. (B, L)

+DAY 7: Cigars and Rum. Today is your finalyoga session. Absorb all that you can fromyour teachings, your practice, and thosearound you. Be thankful for all that you are.As a group with your guide, visit a Cigar fac-tory. Observe the process and skill behind theworld famous cigars. Next, venture into theRum Museum to learn of how rum came tobe in Cuba and how it’s created. Included inyour visit is Rum tasting. The rest of your dayis at leisure. The evening will end with afarewell dinner. (B, D)

DAY 8: Hasta Luego. Today is the final dayas a group. Enjoy breakfast together, laugh,and reminisce of your experiences of yogaand travels in Havana before transferring tothe airport for a safe flight home. (B)
