Go to the Seaside.

Harry and Tilly were very excited.

They went in their car to the seaside.

They drove along the motorway singing songs.

They were very happy.

After two hours they arrived at the seaside.

It was a hot summer's day.

They parked the car and walked to the beach.

Harry carried the wind break and deckchairs.

Tilly carried the picnic box and swimsuits.

They found a good place on the beach.

It was at the bottom of the cliff.

Tilly put on her swimsuit and sun screen.

She lay down in the sun.

Harry walked along the beach.

Nearby some children were playing in a rockpool.

Harry went to see what they had caught.

In the bucket he saw two small crabs.

Harry walked to the sea shore.

Nearer the sea the beach had more pebbles.

The pebbles hurt Harry's feet as he walked on them.

He paddled in the sea. It was very cold.

He watched the sailing boats going into the harbour.

While Harry had been walking Tilly had fallen asleep.

She woke up when Harry sprinkled sand on her legs.

It gave her a surprise.

"I thought a crab was walking on me," she cried.

They were hungry so they ate their lunch.

They were careful not to get sand in their sandwiches.

"Is that why they are called sandwiches ?" Harry asked.

As they were eating, a seagull stood beside them.

The seagull was hoping to have a good feed.

Tilly threw a piece of her sandwich to the gull.

The seagull ate it all up.

After lunch they walked along the beach to the pier.

From the pier they could look out across the sea.

Far away they could see a lighthouse.

The lighthouse is a warning to the ships at sea.

Harry and Tilly walked back along the pier.

In the evening they visited a fun fair.

They went on the Roller Coaster and on the dodgems.

The fun fair was very exciting.

At the end of the evening they were tired.

Harry and Tilly went home.

They had a very good day at the seaside.
