HARRY POTTER House Quiz

On Thursday 1st February, the annual Harry Pot-

ter quiz was held in the Lower College Hall. This

year’s theme was “Fantastic Beasts”. We had for-

ty-three students in various teams racking their

brains to remember the ten breeds of dragon and

why the feathers of the Jobberknoll are so useful

(truth serums and memory potions)!

Well done to Team “S.P.E.W. (Society for the Pro-

motion of Elfish Welfare)” who knew all about

phoenixes, basilisks, trolls and pygmy puffs to win

this year’s quiz. The “Guffindoodles” and “Anti-

Slytherin” who were not far behind. Extra house

credits go to Poppy Dutton 7GHG who designed

the “Hogwarts Sphinx” as a mascot.

Thank you to our wonderful quizmaster, Mr Lind-

field who had fun pronouncing all of the fantastic

beast names; nifflers, occamy, quintaped, krups

and snallygaster to name but a few. A big thank

you to our Sixth Form House Leaders who sup-

ported the event and Ms Ryan, Mrs O’Reilly, Miss

Short, Mr Hughes and Mr Weidmann for their sup-

port.
