The Cupuaçu, a tree of the

cocoa plant family, is cultivated

in Northern Brazil.

Its fresh fruit weighs about 3 lbs.

The white flesh of the fruit contains seed kernels, which are

cold pressed and the oil then refined.

Too intensive cleansing of the skin may attack the stabilizing barrier lipids of the skin, making the skin more permeable thus increasing the transepidermal water loss.
