Word Choice Superb word choice will make ANY piece

of writing better!

Even if you change NOTHING else, simply choosing lively, descriptive words will enhance the clarity of your piece.

yet…Ms. Clear was livid! YIKES!

“Dead word wall” When you use precise words to say

exactly what you want to say, your words are more pleasurable to read.

Some words should be banned from your writing. …fun, awesome, cool….

Show, don’t tell. Another sure fire, easy way to spice up

your writing is to show, don’t tell. Instead of saying something was “nice,”

“show” me with words how nice it was.

Prewrite Prewriting is important. Writing can always be improved.

Novelists rewrite and rewrite many times!

Take 10 minutes. Choose another memory off your life line. You get 10 minutes and that’s it!
