• Value of the hay for all of Oregon is 459,840,000 million.
• 600,000 acres of Oregon is hay.
• In union county we harvest 38,000 acres.
Why hay is important
• To feed animals• Farmers can grow it
and sell it for money.
How to grow Hay
• First you plant seeds in rows.
• Second water it every day.
• Third swath for first cut.
• Then repeat the process again for second cut.

• Kentucky blue grass hay
• Grass hay• Alfalfa hay• Barley • Wheat• Straw hay• Fescue hay
Where the hay is mostly grown
• Most of the hay is grown in southern Oregon.
• And some is grown in the Umatilla county and union county.
