Haydon Saffron Jewel was retired as a broodmare due to a knee injury and is by the successful Haydon Drawn sire Haydon Nightwatch. Her full brother Haydon Saturn sold at our Colt Sale, was rated by Warwick Turner as one of the better colts he has started, showing a lot of ability. She has been an excellent producer with progeny like; Haydon Tangerine started well, being an easy mare to play before going to polocrosse. Her full brother Haydon Madras is playing well. Haydon Spice in 2016 by Maximus was a standout at young horse chukkas. Haydon Charmette in 2017 by Ellerston Churchill a top filly.

She is half-sister to Adolfo Cambiaso Hall of Fame, International Champion polo mare Haydon Angel Jewel, Champion polocrosse mare Haydon Bush Jewel, broodmares Haydon Dancing Jewel and Haydon Tourmaline dam of Haydon Victoriana who played the Argentine Open, her full brother Haydon Oracle exported to the UK as a stallion, his brother Haydon Dunkirk a top polocrosse horse and his full sister Haydon Jubilee Jewel has been retained as a broodmare. Haydon Emerald as well as being a top producing mare played right up to Test level and was an exceptional ability mare. Her dam Haydon Trinket was one of the great producing mares of the breed with 17 progeny including Haydon Emerald and her full-sister Champion polo mare Haydon Pearl and Haydon Necklace, Champion mare at the 1986 Polocrosse Nationals played by Les Fraser. Her family traces back to Countess by Planet, Bernard Haydon’s top mare in the 1880s and has established itself as one of the best old Studbook and Bloomfield families.
