Landon Alexander Hays was born March 4, 1987. Th e son of Mike and Belinda Hays and brother to Adrienne Hays, Landon was unexpectedly taken from us December 28, 2001, in a tragic motorcycle accident. Although he was only here for a brief time, he touched the hearts of many people and blessed their lives.

Landon’s love for horses, cattle and the ranch life was the inspiration behind the formation of Hays Brothers. His enthusiasm was contagious and served as a catalyst to spur Dad and Uncle Clark along.

Everyone was excited as construction of the Hays Brothers multi-purpose building began. However, no one was as excited as Landon. Uncle Clark had taught him to rope, and Landon was looking forward to refi ning his roping skills in the new indoor arena. Virtually all weekends and holidays away from school you could fi nd Landon on the ranch shadowing Uncle Clark and absorbing all the knowledge of ranch and cattle life he could. Regardless of the task laid out for him, he gave it his all.

Th ough Landon is not physically with us, we shall always have our precious memories of his laughter and ever-present smile. We shall not forget the many hours he spent as a young man helping start and develop Hays Brothers Angus Ranch.

To our Heavenly Father, we acknowledge that Landon was a very special gift and blessing from You, and we thank You.

To our very special Landon, we love and miss you so much, and look forward to seeing you again in a greater arena, Heaven.

SALE TERMS & CONDITIONS CASH. All cattle are to be paid for during or immediately after the sale and will not be released until settlement has been made. Cattle will not be transfered until paid for in full.

GUARANTEE All cattle sell fully guaranteed under Suggested Terms and Conditions of the American Angus Association.

HERD HEALTH All cattle will have interstate health papers required for shipping into other sections of the United States. All bred females will have been pregnancy examined and pregnancy status will be available sale day. Females of age will be calfhood vaccinated. All sale animals will have been dewormed with Ivomec Plus and have received the following vaccinations: IBR, BVD (type 1 & 2), PI3, and BRSV, vibrio, lepto and 9-way clostridium. All bulls will be semen tested and bulls two years of age and older have been tested negative for Trich.

REGISTRATION CERTIFICATES Th e animals will be transferred to the buyer at the seller’s expense. Each buyer must be sure to give the clerk his proper name and address for making transfers. All calves born before the sale are to be registered by the seller; all calves born after the sale are to be registered by the purchaser.

Dear Producers,

It seems like it was just yesterday we were scrambling around in a frenzy trying to get ready to host our 1st Annual Landon Hays Memorial Angus Sale. As we reminisce, we are reminded of all the unexpected things that seemed to crop up at virtually every corner. At times some of the unexpected seemed almost unsurmountable.

But, here we are now, preparing for our 15th Annual Sale. And guess what, we’re still scrambling around in a frenzy. However, we’ve learned that most of the unexpected things are not unsurmountable. Challenging maybe, but not unsurmountable.

Th is past year we’ve seen a lot of shifts. Shifts in the weather, shifts in the markets, and shifts in the way we strive to produce the highest quality beef possible with the least amount of input. We’ve also had to deal with one of those unexpected events and chal-lenging it has been, when Clark was injured back in August. We all found out that 60 year old bodies don’t heal as well or as quick as 20 year old ones. Th ough he’s not back in the pens on a daily basis as usual he has plenty of paper work and phone calls to keep up with.

We are proud of this year’s sale off ering. We’ve got another great set of big, stout 2 year old Angus Herd Sires, around 300 head of heifer pairs and heavy breds that will knock your eyes out, and a group of big, soggy fall calving heifers.
