First Initiation into the Qadiriyyah Spiritual School by His Uncle, Pir Fazal Din Sahib (R.A.) - Later Induction into the Chishtiyya Nizamiyya Order by Khwaja Shamsuddin

(R.A) of Siyal Sharif (Distt. Jhang, Punjab, Pakistan)

HADHRAT'S MAIN ACHIEVEMENTS:

Hadhrat's attributes and achievements are too numerous to mention and elaborate. We have touched upon them briefly as follows: - Both as a scholar and a sufi, his life was an embodiment

of the Holy Prophet Muhammad's (S.A.W.) epitome and was the perfect exemplar. He imparted religious & spiritual light to thousands of people; taught the Mathnavai of Maulana

Jalaluddin Rumi (R.A.); was an accepted authority on the works of Shaikh Mohiuddin Ibn Al-Arabi (R.A.); issued Fatawa (authoritative rulings) on important religious issues referred to him; participated in scholarly debates; campaigned untiringly against movements seeking to disrupt the Muslim community; indulged ceasingly in meditation, prayer and remembrance of Allah which is the essence of Islam; and maintained family and other worldly relationships in strict accordance

with the Shariah (Islamic Law).

Hadhrat always emphasised unity (excluding the Qadianis) & published a pamphlet entitled: 'Tasfiyyah Ma Bain Sunni Wa Shia' to permanently resolve the long-standing

differences between these two main Islamic sects. Hadhrat fought against anti-Islamic groups and was an ardent opponent of the Qadianis and the British Imperialists.

Hadhrat's writings include: Tahqiq Al-Haq Fi Kalimatil Haq (1897), Tasfiyyah Ma Bain Sunni Wa Shia, Shams Al-Hidaya Fi Athbath-e-Hayatul Masih (1900), Saifi Chishtiyai (1902), Miraat

Al-Irfan (poetry), Majmu'a-e-wazaif (prose), I'la-e-Kalimatullah Fi Bayaan Ma Uhilla Bihi Lighairillah 1904-05), Fatawa Mehriyya (1906), Al-Fatoohaat-us-Samadiyya (1907-08),

Malfoozaat-e-Mehriyya (1974), Maktobaat-e-Tayyibaat (collection of letters); Mehr-e-Munir (Urdu biography of Hadhrat by Maulana Faiz Ahmad); Hadhrat Pir Mehr Ali Shah (R.A.) of

Golra Sharif (English biography of Hadhrat by Dr. Muhammad Fazil Khan).

Hadhrat departed from this world on 11th May 1937 AD (29 Safar 1356 A.H.). He was succeeded by his only son, Hadhrat Ghulam Mohiuddin Chishti (R.A.)
