* Level 4 : EXCEEDING= [MEETS STANDARD WITH DISTINCTION ] Student exceeds grade level

expectations/standards of grade level indicator for physical activity in sports skills/fitness exercise skills, sports game performance through application of knowledge/understanding/problem solving/critical thinking, & (RRSISS) character performance: 90% - 100% ( Student is doing things with excellence; in game play settings, while using fluid skill sets/psychomotor movements. Based on: PE Curriculum (Psychomotor Sports Skills & Character-Virtue Skills Policy)

Physical Education is performance and each student's grade reflects a variety of important factors. A student’s grade in physical education will be based on a holistic approach to physical activity. The grade will be based on the following: Daily PE performance; the grade weekly cycles are determined through active participation, engagement in: a.) sports skill development/performance b.) motor skill concepts c.) physical fitness exercises skill performance, d.) fitness skill knowledge, e.) responsible personal & social behavior, f.) cooperative games that build life long participation in physical activity. Students are expected to participate fully in all sport games, locomotor movement challenges, teacher/peer assessments, and are expected to demonstrate appropriate character & virtue social skill behaviors.

CLASS DOJO: 1) Positive Points: P.E. CITIZENSHIP POINTS 2) Needs Improvement: Negative Points A.) DAILY PERFORMANCE GRADE: 80% Maximum PE CITIZENSHIP PILLAR POINTS { to be earned per class day} Students need to fully and actively participate in all physical education class activities to earn credit towards the performance portion of their grade. B.) PSYCHOMOTOR SPORTS SKILL COMPONENT : 15% Throughout each marking period students will be assessed on formative skill mastery which will account for 15% of their trimester grade. The goal of formative assessment is to monitor student learning to provide ongoing feedback that can be used by myself to improve teaching and by students to improve their learning.

C.) KNOWLEDGE OF THE SPORTS: GAME RULES, TACTICS, & POSITIONS VIA PSYCHOMOTOR DEVELOPMENT: 5% Goal here is to utilize a summative assessment; used to test acquired knowledge of essential skills and concepts; teacher/peer assessments will be given periodically throughout each grading period to assess knowledge of sports: game play. The goal of summative assessment is to evaluate student learning at the end of an instructional unit by comparing it against some standard which will account for 5% of their trimester grade.

D.) PE CURRICULUM MAP ACTIVITIES: DURING THE MONTHS OF SEPT, OCT, NOV, DEC, & JAN 1) Cooperative Challenge Activities & Open Sports Game Play:( for Grades 1-8: Partner & Group Stunts Pyramids, Flag Grab Games, & Tag Games, Scoopers – Toss & Shot Game, End Zone Soccer-Basketball: Invasion Games

2) TGfU-Sport Ed Specific Activities Grades K, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, & 8: Soccer, Floor-ball, (Korfball & Netball: Basketball- Sport Game Days), (Volleyball 4 Team Game Play – Sport Game Days Only ); & (Flag Football { Game Days w/ Game Sense Progressions})

3) Cooperative Indoor Team Racing Events: CITRE_Camp: Grades 3-8.

4) Fitness Testing Activities Gr. 5,6,7,8: Fitness Testing Goals will be met through an individual battery of tests to met individual exercise performance [ last 2 weeks of every month starting the week of October 29 through May ];Push Ups, Curl Ups, Shuttle Run, Jump Roping, & 1 Mile Run/Walk – (22 Laps runs around gym perimeter) .

DAILY PERFORMANCE GRADE: RESPECT & HONOR WITHIN PE CLASSES: 2 Pt Awarded; Demonstrates On Task & Active Listening: when teacher is communicating and demonstrating games, sports, and/or fitness skills/concepts during instructional times, and Starting and Stopping on Whistle Signal and Music Cues. 2A

RIGHTEOUSNESS & FAITH: 2 Pt Awarded; Plays with fortitude and courage when it counts in practice and game play sessions. Resilience to apply game skills, rules, strategy, & applies the Righteousness social life skill. 3A Problem Solver: 2 Pt Awarded to students who utilize the problem solving corner to resolve conflicts:(Compromise) try’s to find a win-win solution that both parties can feel good about; and use rock-papers-scissors to settle a matter, volunteers to leave a group and join another one in order to play with fairness; fair and even teams, or comes up with a solution to an issue that arises in the PE Class. 3B

SELF CONTROL: 2 Pt Awarded for students exhibiting Self Control & Positive Disagreement - students settles the difference by listening and talking. Deals appropriately with emotions, feeling, and words while in games/activity play. Whether your group/team is ahead our behind, handles winning or losing in an appropriate way. 5A

BATHROOM & WATER KEY ICON SYSTEM: 1 Pt Awarded to students when they adhere to the BW key system if they need to use the bathroom and/or get water they calmly/respectfully take their appropriate key: (1 Key for Girls,1 Key for Boys, 1 Key for Emergencies) and put it back when they return to the gym. 12A DOCTOR & PARENTAL EXCUSE NOTES PE POLICY: 1 Pt Awarded ❏  Students who submit Doctor notes that require no physical activity (student out due to injuring/medical concerns will: assist with attendance, distribution BW Key’s, observation logs. All doctors notes should be given to the nurse. 13A Students may not return to activity unless the doctor writes a release note back to physical education. There will be no penalty towards the student’s daily grade. SPORTSMANSHIP: 2 Pt Awarded to all students/players/learners who practice, and play with SPORTSMANSHIP character: Help each other on their designed teams with positive communication, and teamwork; respect apposing team - congratulate opposing team. Awarded to individuals, partners, groups, teams that are observed working well together. 6A {2 Pt Awarded Participates and practices sportsmanlike conduct uses the virtues of sharing, unity, and [helpfulness: given when student goes above and beyond what is asked of them to help the teacher; examples includes helping with equipment - setup & collection, straightening up gym. 6B 2 Pt Awarded: for Cooperation: Use teamwork and show good sportsmanship. Participation within the games/sports seasons team community with cooperative unity. Makes good decisions and cooperates during activities and structured play segments. 6C

INTEGRITY: 2 Pt Awarded and given to Student/Player/Learner who acts with Motivation-Enthusiasm: Gets excited to learn, exercise and have fun. Students/Players who participate with hard-work, & effort and maintains a positive attitude: during warmups, games, drill development practices/sports games, and skill demonstration segments. 7A {Participates as an optimist: 2 Pt Awarded for exhibiting a feeling and belief that good things will happen during practice and game play experiences/activities.7B} 2 Pt Awarded to students that acts as a Discussion Contributor-Communicator: demonstrate a skill in front of the class, student brings up a good point/shares ideas or great question during the discussion time or reflection time. 7C

HONESTY: 2 Pt Awarded for Honesty; Thou Shall Not Lie “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.” This principle includes all forms of lying. Be honest at all times. 8A

P.E. DRESS CODE-PLAY READY POLICY: 4 Pt Awarded to students who are dressed appropriately for physical activity; Prepared: Always wears sneakers and proper clothes: A uniform consists of: ❏ Wears athletic gym uniform Top/Shorts/Pants = 2 points 9A ; ❏ Gym Shoes = 2 points for appropriate footwear - sneakers. 9B

ENTERED THE GYM PROPERLY: 2 Pt Awarded for entering the gym properly. Examples include following direction on the entry lines, no screaming, running around the gym or getting equipment early. 10A

LINED UP PROPERLY: 2 Pt Awarded for getting ready to leave the gym properly; Examples include: Lined up on line facing the door way, hands to them self, not cuts or saving spots. 11A

* All Students are expected to participate on designated teams/groups during sports skill training sessions Sports Ed/TGFU Seasons and wear Jerseys/Pinnies for team affiliations .

* Raise your hand and wait to be called on, when you have a question. * Walk silently coming into the gym and leaving the gym. *Students who come late to P.E.Class are expected to do their cardiovascular warmup/stretch before they can actively participate within the whole group activities. * Students are expected not to chew gum or candy during class, nor to wear dangling or exposed jewelry. * Students are expected to participate 100% of the time unless excused with a parents notice or medical excuse

notice that was handed in or if nurse and principal, myself determine the necessity for student/player to . * PE Dress Code Play Ready Policy

* Follow all my directions keep: Hands, Feet, and Objects to Yourself. * RESPECT OTHERS, SELF, THEIR PROPERTY, & MY SELF AT ALL TIMES. If you do not display respectful actions this will result in the following: Receiving Negative Points on progress and parents/guardians will be notified and disciplinary action will be initiated immediately. * If any student does not participate fully for no feasible reasons and/or is acting with disrespect,

disobedience, and fights actions will be put out on Red Card Status Alert and Parents/Guardians will be notified and messaged via EMAIL, TEXT, GOOGLE & CLASS DOJO. Student will have lunch detention with Mr. Jaramillo the next available PE Class date in which they have PE Gym class cycle.

PLAY, LEARN, & HAVE FUN!

FIRST WARNING

If you are responsible and respectful in class, you get to

participate! This means that you will get the most out

of each and every lesson!

If your behaviour does not meet the

teacher’s expectations, you will receive a verbal warning.

Although you may continue to

participate, take a minute to reflect on

your actions & decisions.

If you continue to behave in ways that

do not meet expectations, you will

be asked to sit out. You will need to wait until the teacher is

ready to discuss your behaviour before you

may return to class activities.

If you return to the class activities and

continue to not meet behaviour expectations,

you will have to sit out for the rest of the

class. Your parents will need to be

informed of your behaviour.

If you act in ways that are purposefully

abusive towards others (either physically or verbally), you will be expelled from class. A meeting with the

principal will be required before you may return to class.
