SAFETY – Right to be safe and free from abuse • ensure effective risk management principles and practices are developed and maintained. • ensure that the most suitable and appropriate staff/volunteers are engaged to work with and provide services to children and young people. • ensure that all relevant staff/volunteers develop and maintain the necessary skills and understanding to promote child safe environments. • ensure all relevant staff/volunteers are aware of their obligations under the Children’s Protection Act 1993 3. QUALITY – Right to quality service • be a child safe and child friendly organisation, where children and young people feel respected, valued and are encouraged to reach their full potential. • children and young people are unique users of health services. • respect & take into consideration the cultural beliefs/practices of children, young people & their parents/carers. 4. RESPECT – Right to be treated with respect • inform children and young people of their rights • provide appropriate information and ensure effective age-appropriate 5. INFORMATION – Right to be informed
