Dear 7th District Resident:

Your House of Representatives adjourned its final voting session of the calendar year last Wednesday evening and with the sounding of that gavel from the Speaker’s dais of the People’s House concluded another productive year of legislative work on behalf of our 11.5 million fellow Ohioans.

In 2015, we enacted a third consecutive balanced budget that continues to reduce taxes, hold the line on spending, and reform state government, all while ensuring we assist those who require our support, including Ohio’s children and veterans. We passed landmark legislation that, for the first time in two decades, will instill greater accountability in our state’s charter schools. And we acted decisively to address some of the most important issues pertaining to protect water quality in Ohio, including algal blooms in Lake Erie.

We also had another busy year specifically on behalf of the people of Berea, North Royalton, Olmsted Falls, Olmsted Township, and Strongsville. legislative process, including the Ohio Elder Justice Act to strengthen Adult Protective Services statutes on behalf of our senior citizens and my Open Ohio initiative to codify greater transparency in state spending with an online database and website.

As my fifth year in the House of Representatives draws to a close, I wish to express my sincere gratitude for this opportunity to be of service to you and our community in the Legislature. I offer my best wishes for a Merry Christmas, happy holidays, and a prosperous 2016.

Sincerely,

State Representative Mike DovillaHouse Majority Whip
