Second half of monsoon to see “weak” rainfall: IMD
NEW DELHI, Aug 3:India Meteorological
Department has stuck to its fore-cast of "deficient" monsoon as itcame out with its prediction forthe second half of the seasonwhich is likely to witness weakrainfall over the next two months.
IMD said rainfall in August islikely to be 90 per cent, which is onthe negative side of "below nor-mal" rainfall. It has added that El-Nino phenomenon has strength-ened from weak to moderate fromApril to July and it will continue toremain so in the remaining time ofthe season. (PTI)
