The SEND Youth Forum attended North Tyneside Customer Service Awards this week and were delighted to be presented with the ‘Innovation
Award’ on behalf of the SEND Team. The SEND Youth Forum are a group of young people with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities aged between 11-25 who work with services in North Tyneside to ensure young people’s views are captured and listened to. The young people
give up their own free time to come along and help improve services. They are really excited to be
discussing how to spend the award money at our next meeting.
It was a wonderful experience for Bakitha from
High school & Connor from 6th Form to be invited along to accept the award.
If you would like to become involved contact the Participation, Advocacy and Engagement Team 0191 643 8215 or follow us on Facebook North
Tyneside Participation and Advocacy

Ryan has just started in our nursery provision. Ryan
showed interest in the drum as we chanted our
story and reached out to tap it. We stopped and
asked if he wanted 'more' and Ryan tapped his
chest in response and smiled as he tapped it again!
Well done Ryan!
