It tells the fascinating story of the attempt of German officials to prevent an Armenian-style treatment of Jews in Palestine as well as of interactions between ordinary German soldiers and Jews. It then proceeds to discussing the impact of the treatment of both the Yishuv and Armenians both on German policy towards the Middle East in the interwar years and on the evolution of the ‘Final Solution’ Tuesday, February 16 at 6 p.m. In 102 Room, Október 6 str. 7 Thomas Weber is Professor of History and International Affairs at the University of Aberdeen. He is the author of three award- winning books, most recently ‘Hitler’s First War’. Trained at Oxford, Weber held positions at Harvard, the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Chicago, and the University of Glasgow, ‘Metamorphosis’, his new book on how Hitler became a Nazi, will be published later this year.
