Announcements & Upcoming Events “Baby Bottle Boomerage” September Community Outreach Help support Women’s Choice Pregnancy Resource Center by taking a baby bottle home and filling it with change, cash or checks and then bring your filled bottles back no later than September 24 th . We will then bless them with all the filled bottles! There are a few baby bottles left in the main lobby today, so please stop by and get one for your family. New Addiction Recovery Ministry Mike McComick is launching a new Recovery Ministry called “Made New Ministries” in mid October to meet the needs of recovering addicts in the Putnam County area. This is a huge need in our area and we are in need of volunteers to help. This group will meet on Friday evenings. TVCOG Business Directory We would like to promote businesses of active church members. If you are a regular attender of TVCOG and would like to be listed in a business directory we are going to make available, please put your name, business name, email address and phone number on your blue card. Mom’s Fat Patty’s Lunch – 09/05 Join us for lunch at Fat Patty’s for any mom with kids still at home that can come socialize and have lunch together. We meet at 11:30AM. Man Up! Men’s Group Bible Study – 09/06 Our Wednesday night men’s Bible study will resume the Wednesday after Labor Day, September 6th in the Green Room. Holy Grounds Bible Study – 9/7 New Series Holy Grounds is a weekly Bible study for senior adults lead by Judy Combs. They will begin a new study on Prayer beginning this Thursday. They meet weekly at 10AM in the Student Center and all those 55 and over are welcome to meet in the Student Center for this time of study and fellowship. Baby Shower for Cara (Escue) Hagar – 09/09 All ladies are invited to shower Cara and her baby boy, James Oliver Hager, in the Student Center from 4PM – 6PM. The nursery theme is Star Wars and they are registered at Walmart and Target. All are welcome. Baptism – 09/10 If you have been saved and would like to be baptized we will be having a baptism on Sunday, September 10th. There is a required baptism class that must be taken before you are baptized. Mark your blue card and a pastor will get back with you. Ladies Swim Party – 09/10 The ladies of TVCOG are invited to the home of Nancy Chapman at 116 Spruce Lane, Scott Depot, WV 25560 on September 10 th from 6PM-8PM for a fellowship and pool party. Bring an appetizer to share. The pool is heated! Young at Heart – 09/11 Those 55 and over are invited to join us on the 3 rd Monday of each month at 12PM in the Student Center for a carry-in lunch. Bring a generous dish to share and enjoy a time of fellowship. Our next gathering will be September 11 th . We will have a guest soloist for entertainment this month. Griefshare – New Session Begins 9/13 If you or someone you know has lost a loved one and is in need of support and healing, please consider attending Grief Share this fall. We will meet Wednesdays beginning September 13 th from 6:30pm-8:00pm for 13 weeks. There is a $20 workbook fee, but all classes are free. Mark your blue card. Service Project – 09/16 Club 23 will be serving breakfast to the homeless at Trinity Episcopal Church from 8AM-11AM in Huntington on September 16 th . Please mark your blue card. Handyman Quartet – 9/16 For an evening of gospel music, you are invited to Nitro Church of God on September 16 th at 6PM. This is a free concert, and a love offering will be taken. Light refreshments will be served following the concert. Back-to-Church Sunday! 09/17 September 17 th is National Back to Church Sunday and it is the time to invite that friend, neighbor or family member that doesn’t have a church home. Pizza with the Pastors – 09/17 If you are new to TVCOG or have never attended a Newcomers Lunch, please join us on Sunday September 17 th following the second service, in the Student Center. This is a casual time enjoying a meal and getting to know each other better while finding out more about the mission of the Church. Installation Service at Browns Creek Church of God – 09/17 You are invited to the installation of Pastor Craig Gobel at the Browns Creek COG on Sunday, September 17th at 3PM. Manly Meal – 09/19 All men are invited for a fellowship lunch at Chipotle Mexican Grill in Barboursville at 12PM on Tuesday, September 19th. This men’s group meets for a monthly lunch and time of fellowship at various restaurants. CWC Ladies’ State Fall Prayer Retreat at Cedar Lakes – 09/29-09/30 Those interested in attending this powerful retreat filled with worship and inspirational messages, please mark your blue card. God, Guns and Good Times! – 10/21 Tim & Michele Ball will be hosting an afternoon of target practice shooting, lunch and a devotion at their home on October 21 st from 11AM-3PM. Cost is $5 per person. Please bring a side dish, dessert, drink, chair and ammo. Target and stands will be furnished. Pistols and 22 rifles only please. Those 16 and over may shoot, and those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Sign up on blue card by September 23 rd . Senior Bus Trip to Wohlfahrt Haus Dinner Theatre – 11/11 Enjoy a bus trip, dinner, and theater production of “A Wohl Haus Christmas” for just $75 per person. Reservation deadline is October 1 st . The Garage Student Ministries See You at the Pole – 09/27 We need volunteers to help us cover all area schools for "See you at the Pole" on September 27th. If you are interested in going to a school to pray with our students please write it on your blue card. “Saw You at the Pole” Rally – 09/27 September 27th TVCOG will be hosting a "Saw you at the Pole" rally. The event starts at 6:00PM and "Render the Hearts" will be leading worship throughout the night. 3SLI Conference – 9/22-24th All Student Leaders must sign up by today please. See Pastor Jed. Youth Ministries Waiver & Parental Consent Form – DUE ASAP Each year a new Waiver & Parental Consent form must be completed by all parents of students in the youth ministry. You may pick up forms at the Youth Booth, the Student Center or on the Garage FB page. A Night of Hope: Surviving Teen Anxiety and Depression – 10/1 6PM Parents, students, educators, law enforcement, counselors, coaches---all who work with teens or are friends of teens are invited to a special seminar with Dr. Gary Nelson, pastoral counselor and author of A Relentless Hope: Surviving the Storm of Teen Depression. In this seminar Dr. Nelson will dialogue about teen depression – what it looks like on the outside and inside, help for those teens suffering from depression, and help for those walking the journey with the teens. Please help us spread the word about this important and timely event.

Revved Up Kidz Parent Cue App: Parents do you want to be able to have conversations about the Bible with your children and keep up with the topics that are being taught in the Revved Up Garage? We have an app you can download on your phone called Parent Cue, and it will help you to start conversations about the Bible with your child and keep you updated about what they are learning each week! New Snack Policy for Preschool Age Children: Due to the many food allergies that several of our children have we will no longer be providing snack for preschool age students. Volunteers Needed: We are looking for someone interested in serving in the children’s ministry as a substitute teacher. This wouldn’t require a monthly commitment but we need individuals that are willing to fill in as needed. If you are interested, please sign up on your blue card. A Country Christmas with a City Twist-Mas: We are EXCITED to announce that we will be starting to prepare for our yearly Christmas Program! This year’s play is entitled “A Country Christmas with a City Twist-Mas.” This is a humorous and heartfelt musical about three siblings who leave their city home to spend the holidays with their country cousins! We will begin practices on September 13th at 6:45 PM! Please sign your child up on your blue card. Pray for our Military: Hey Revved Up families! This month we are making it a point to pray for our military. We have a bucket of army men at check-in for each family to take one home as reminders to pray for our military this month.
