Leaving from the Kaysersberg Munici- pal Building, head towards the porch in order to find the bike path which leads to Kientzheim. After having wandered on the cobbled streets of Kientzheim, at the fountain near the municipal building, take a left in the direction of Riquewihr and Ribeauvillé. On top of the hill, a specta- cular view of the Black Forest foothills lies before you. In Riquewihr, the old center, its the Dodler Tower and its fortifications from the 13 th century are ready to be dis- covered! Next, head towards Hunawihr with its church and its fortified cemetary then Ribeauvillé. The 3 castles of Ribeauvillé greet you at your arrival In the Ménétriers city. After a detour in the town center. In order to appreciate its richness, go to- wards the camp site in the outskirts of the town (in the direction of the stadium and the junior high school). After the camp site, continue along the bike path until it heads down (before the fishing pond) then turn left to the first intersection and take the direction: Bergheim. The bike path goes through the grape- vines and brings you right up to the vil- lage of Bergheim. After the parking lot, you are right at the foot of main entrance tower where a mis- chievous sculpture welcomes you. For the return path, go through Bergheim and head towards the football stadium. Before the stadium, turn on the street: rue des Romains. You will find yourself back on the bike- wine road also called the Roman path be- cause it was used during the Antiquity pe- riod to avoid the floods of the Rhin River. Follow the road markings heading to- wards Bennwihr with the view on the vi- neyards and the Alsatian Grands Crus. At Bennwihr, follow the bike path that winds between the grapevines. Then carefully cross the Route des Vins (the wine road) and head across the way towards the stone calvary, in the direction of Sigolsheim then Kientzheim. After a few minutes, you will notice the Kaysers- berg Church’s profil announcing the end of your trip. If not, return on your way towards Turckheim where its remarkable gate house welcomes you. From Turckheim, head towards the direction of Ingersheim then towards Sigolsheim with its very beautiful Roman church and national necropolis perched over the remains of difficult combats for the liberation of Colmar during the winter of 1944.
