Thank you for your interest in this key post, offered at an exciting time in the further development of
Woodbridge Park. Our retiring Head Teacher, Sue Tysall, leaves a strong legacy, having developed a service
that is highly regarded by students and their families, as well as partner schools.
The Management Committee and I are very pleased to send you the details and an application pack. We wish
to appoint an energetic leader who will be instrumental in continuing with the development of Woodbridge
Park. The Service was judged “Good” in the Ofsted Inspection of 2015.
Woodbridge Park is a multi-site Alternative Provision which delivers an exceptional education to many of the
most vulnerable young people in Hounslow KS1-5. The Service set –up is described in full in the accompanying
booklet.
The Management Committee is seeking to appoint an aspirational, visionary and dynamic Headteacher who
will lead the Service through further growth and development. This challenging post will continue to shape
alternative provision in Hounslow, but also lay the foundations for the life chances of young people for who
mainstream provision is not always the best match for their needs.
We are seeking to appoint an experienced practitioner who may already be a Headteacher, who will lead
Woodbridge Park forward from its current strong position. This will require vision, the ability to inspire and
motivate and a strong focus on giving young people every possible chance.
Please find an application pack enclosed that includes a job description and person specification. When
submitting supporting evidence in respect of your application please follow the enclosed Candidates’ guidance
notes and demonstrate how your knowledge skills and experience meet the job profile, and in particular, how
you meet the requirements of the person specification. You may find the person specification particularly useful
to help you understand the type of person we wish to recruit.
It is particularly important that you have exceptional influencing skills, you are emotionally intelligent and have
expertise in analysing and interpreting data, and able to use such data to produce quantifiable outcomes.
Part of the assessment at shortlisting will focus on professional competence, communication skills, strong
leadership and good personal skills.
You are reminded that the closing date is Monday 23rd April 2018
We encourage you to visit our Service. A tour of our Primary Provision and KS4 will be available on Friday 20th
April at 2pm. If you are interested in visiting these sites, please contact the Headteacher’s PA, Milli Cowling
on: [email protected].
We look forward to receiving your completed application, and learning what you would be able to offer to the
WPES community and specifically our students, staff, parents / carers and management committee
Yours Sincerely
