It was a large ,old wooden house – the sort that burns beautifully – and my room was on the top floor. I jumped out of bed ,opened the door and stepped out into the passage. It was full of thick smoke.I began to run,but as I was still only half-awake,instead of going towards the stairs I went in the opposite direction. A big fire broke out in a great singing and dancing hall of Longgang, Shenzhen, Guangdong Province late in September, 2008, which was caused by people lighting fireworks carelessly in it. Hundreds of firemen and local people fought bravely against the fire until it was completely put out. The fire lasted about ten hours causing a damage of at least five million yuan. 17 people were killed and more than 40 people were injured in the fire. The whole nation was shocked at the news and many people agreed that they really learned a good lesson from the fire.
