. August Update
At the time of going to print—we have had some further up-
dates on easing of restrictions, especially regarding indoor fit-
ness classes, which are now allowed to take place along with
gym sessions and dance classes etc. Therefore the Village Hall is
reopening from the last week in July and classes will be active
during August. Anyone who usually attends a particular group
should contact their Group Leader to see if the class is restarting.
There are regulations in place during hirings to keep people safe
etc. and the Hall is now equipped with sanitiser dispensers etc.
Playgrounds are also now reopened and the Parish Council has
recently had the play areas in the Village inspected and any re-
pairs required will be actioned.
We will keep everyone updated through our social media pages
and website. We have had a few hard copies printed again this
month so if you would like one, please call into the Village Shop
or call us 07494 577661 and we can get one dropped off for you
or email us at [email protected].
It would seem that the September 2020 edition may be the one
where we get back to normal and have it printed and distributed
to all households but we will update via social media etc.

Healing Parish Council
NOTES FOR AUGUST 2020
The Council meeting for July was held under the new regulations and took
the form of a virtual meeting. The portal used was Zoom and all members
present were able to participate both by video and audio means. A mem-
ber of the public also joined in with the meeting.
Highways and Footpaths
NELC has now advertised the Notice of Intent for the TRO concerning park-
ing on verges and footways and is now waiting for signage to also be erect-
ed before the Order becomes legally enforceable.
Police Matters
The Parish Council continues to receive its monthly police report, which is
published in the News each month.
Planning Applications
The planning applications considered at the meeting for July 2020 were as
follows:
Planning Application Reference: DM/0510/20/FULA Proposal: Demolish existing conservatory and erect single storey rear extension with roof light Location: 11 Buddleia Close Healing No objections.
Planning Application Reference: DM/0461/20/FUL Proposal: Alterations and first floor extensions to provide living accommodation at first floor Location: 16 Radcliffe Road Healing This application is being represented to Council at the August meeting

Planning Application Reference: DM/0198/20/REM Proposal: Reserved matters application following DM/0378/15/OUT (Outline planning application with means of access to be con-sidered for the construction of up to 250 residential dwellings, a new primary access with Stallingborough Road and secondary/emergency access via Larkspur Avenue, public open space, and landscaping, surface water drainage attenuation and associated works) to erect 150 dwellings, play equipment, public open space and infrastructure with appearance, landscaping, layout and scale to be considered (Amended Plans June 2020) Location: Land At Stallingborough Road Healing No objections.
The Parish Council members do check on the NELC Planning Portal for plans and
comments by neighbours and other statutory consultees.
Village Hall Project
The Parish Council has now accepted an offer for the sale of the Village Hall and
revisited building costs for its new project. It is hoped that the sale goes through
smoothly and it is possible that the new project could begin building by October/
November of this year and be ready for next Spring.
Future Dates and Reports
All events within the village arranged by the PC, all scheduled training and other
meetings with outside bodies etc. have all been cancelled due to the current re-
strictions.
Village Hall
The Village Hall has now reopened to several of its hirers. Please check your
group for details of when your classes may be restarting. Some classes won’t be
back until September or perhaps even later..

Parish council notes continued…..
Second Defibrillator for Village
The Parish Council has now had the defibrillator installed on the side of the
Working Men’s Club. Thanks to the Club for allowing the PC to site it on the side
of the building.
Parks and other siites
Grass cutting at the PC sites continues during this period. However the Bowling
Season has been cancelled at the present time, so the Parish Council is maintain-
ing the Bowling Green but at slightly less intense effort that would normally be
used—the members will be using the green for non-competitive social bowling
for a few weeks.
Unfortunately of course all holiday club activities have now been cancelled for
the Summer break which is very disappointing. The Parish Council has made a
commitment to run the holiday club though as soon as it is able to do so. Please
check the Website, FB page and the Newsletter for further updates.
Finance
The Council has now submitted its claim to NELC for essential park maintenance
and hopefully NELC will refund this amount to the Parish Council as it did last
year.
The quarterly accounts have been approved and each month all members see
the bank statement, balance and budget monitoring.

View from the Pew
What’s it all for?
What’s the point of living Here on this puzzling earth, A mixture of joy and sorrow
That happens to us from birth. Some people feel we’re an accident
In a vast impersonal space, There are others who sense a Presence,
And know they have seen His face - Living in Jesus of Nazareth,
Loving enough to die For all those He has created,
Opening the way to God –that’s why Response to His love is life’s purpose,
By caring in all that you do For yourself, and others.
That’s what it’s all for.

Recycling News from NELC:
Some residents may be aware that NELC is now changing its
recycling system so that the individual boxes will be replaced
with large wheelie-bin recycling facilities.
The programme of replacement of boxes will start in July and
run through to the end of this year with hopefully all boxes re-
placed by the end of the year.
It is believed collection days etc. will remain as they currently
are.
Parish Council Vacancy
There is still one remaining casual vacancy on the Parish
Council and the Parish Council would welcome interest
from any resident who feels they could make a contri-
bution to the work of the Parish Council.
For an informal chat or for more information please
contact the Parish Council Clerk
Or call the Chairman or Vice-Chairman for an informal
chat—contacts are on page 9

Take care – be wary of any unsolicited callers offering help. We
will only come by arrangement following contact from you, and
will not ask for your bank card or bank details
If you would like to volunteer to join the group and offer help,
including things you can do from home – please also contact us
as above. If you have printed your own ‘offer of help’ cards,
please feel free to add the above number as well as your own.
Ambulance staff may wear protective masks, aprons etc.. when
attending respiratory patients. This is standard practice and does
not mean the patient has coronavirus

you with DBS checked child care in your own home (rates to be
arranged)
Finally – it is heartwarming that so many people have stepped
forward to offer help. Please remember everyone involved is vol-
unteering their time. By the time you read this, things may have
changed, but if you need anything, even to chat, please do call.
