  • Fore! or Duck! It won’t matter which you are shouting at the Enumclaw Golf Course August 24 as the Enumclaw Regional Healthcare Foundation partners with the Enumclaw Rotary Foundation for the 24th annual fund-raising Duck Race and Golf Tournament. This is the second year, the Duck Race will pair with a family-friendly golf tournament, but this year’s event has a twist. It’s not your typical golf tournament. We’re inviting you to simply go golfing August 24 at the Enumclaw Golf Course then purchase a special Duck Race score card for an additional $15 (this is on top of your greens fee). With your Duck Race score card you are eligible to participate in special games on the course for prizes. You will also receive a duck to float in the Duck Race with the opportunity to win the grand prize of $1,000. Golf tournament prizes will be awarded to the top male, female and golfer 10 years old or younger in the categories: best score 18 and 9 holes; closest to the pin; and longest drive. The Duck Race begins at 5 p.m. down Boise Creek on the back side of the course near the clubhouse. The Foundation has tee times available if you would like to schedule early. Call the office at 360-802-3206.

    Garden Tour Plants 2014 Seeds

After a week of questionable weather, the sun and 630 garden lovers came out to Enumclaw for the Foundation’s Garden Tour June 22.

The tour featured nine gardens, the Rusty Plow blueberry farm and guest speaker Marianne Binetti. Gardeners traveled from as far away as Longview, Centralia and Mossyrock for the tour.

The tour was a successful fundraiser for our Care Van. Plans are under way for the 2014 tour, so stay tuned.

Meet Our New board membersThe ERHF Board of Trustees

recently welcomed Jody Miller and Scott Gray.

Jody grew up a missionary kid, traveling between Canada and Bolivia. A nurse, she married Dr. Mike Miller and they spent time with the USAF. God-willing, she said, Enumclaw will

be a long-term home, something I’ve never known! They have two grown sons. Scott is The Courier-Herald sales

manager. He spent more than three decades with Pepsi-Cola, starting as a truck driver and finishing as national account sales manager.

He and his wife Peggy have two grown children.
