Poorly ventilated, and little bits of cloth or whatever you were working with would be in the air, irritating your lungs and eyes (some people developed very serious breathing problems) . 4. No regulations regarding maximum amount of hours you can work, so bosses would keep people there for hours and hours and hours--up to 16 hours a day, or more, every day--and they would be exhausted and can be hot tempered 5. Factory sewage systems lacked , and as a result, drinking water sources, such as wells, were frequently contaminated with disease prevent accident in factory 1. wear suitable attire and follow procedure in place 2. Put someone in charge of safety in your company 3. Communicate your expectations for a safe work environment 4. Consider investing in first-aid training or, at the very least, a first aid kit 5.
