What is Health in All Policies?HiAP is a strategy that encourages local government leaders to consider health when making decisions that affect community members.

The goal of HiAP is to ensure that leaders areinformed about the health consequences of various policy options, and that they consider these consequences – alongside other important factors – when creating policies that affect the community.

3

What are the benefits?

•HiAP helps us think about the healthiest way to plan communities, transport people, educate children, police neighborhoods, etc.

•Policy is more lasting than programmatic collaboration

5
