Ephesians 2:4 Ephesians 2:4

This is the day that the Lord has made. It is the day of great fruitfulness. He alone will make you fruitful on all sides. Take advantage of the great grace of God to become fruitful so that you will become who God created you to be. God bless you. Shalom.

But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation. I will sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my l ife: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old. Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness' sake, O LORD.

amentat ions 3:22-23 says L In

the last edit ion I said this scripture tells us the principal benefit of mercy, it is the fact that we are not consumed because of the LORD'S mercy. Also, in the last edit ion I shared a number of ways someone can be consumed. In this edit ion I will discuss some other ways someone can be consumed apart from the ones I shared in the last edit ion. The test imony of David recorded in Psalm 27:1-2 gives us another way someone can be consumed

From this scripture we see clearly that an enemy can consume someone. In the case of the Psalmist his enemies were determined to eat up his flesh, but because the LORD showed up they stumbled and fell; and could not fulfill their evil enterprise. Why did the LORD intervene? The LORD intervened out of mercy. Not everyone is fortunate like the Psalmist; some had fallen prey to the enemy and they were consumed; but the Psalmist through the mercy of God escaped the trap of the enemy. Does that mean God is part ial? Not at all; He is not part ial. Why did the Psalmist enjoy such a dimension of mercy? A careful look at the above scripture gives us the reason. There was a special relationship between the Psalmist and the LORD. The Psalmist made the LORD his light and salvat ion. The LORD was the strength of his life. His confidence was in the LORD his God all the t ime. That was why the LORD was also committed to ensure the safety of the Psalmist; He watched over him day and night and did not give him over to the wish of his enemies. Because of this he enjoyed unusual mercy and favor from the LORD. I pray that you too will make the LORD your light and salvat ion so you can enjoy unusual dimension of mercy and protect ion in Jesus name. When the LORD becomes your strength He will cause your enemies to stumble and fall; they will not perform their evil enterprise. In Jesus name you shall not be consumed. One principal enemy that wanted David dead at all cost was King Saul. There were several attempt at David's life by Saul, but God in His infinite mercy did not allow Saul have his way.

“22. It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23. They

are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”

“1. The LORD is my l ight and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my l ife; of whom shall I be afraid? 2. When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.”

In Jesus name your enemies will not have their ways in your life. You will enjoy God's mercy on all sides. One reason why the Psalmist enjoyed God's mercy all the way was because he always and sincerely acknowledged that the LORD

was the One who delivered him from the hands of his enemies. That was why he said

Psalm 107:1-2. On another occasion David acknowledged God's mercy over him in delivering him from the hands of his enemies when he sang this song written in Psalm 124:1-8

Friend, the LORD is good and His mercy endures forever. The LORD delivers the redeemed from the hands of the enemy. If you are redeemed the LORD will also ensure you are delivered from the hands of the enemy and you shall not be consumed. Famine is another thing that can consume. But for God's mercy Egypt and some neighboring nations would have been consumed by famine. While Joseph the son of Jacob was in Egypt as a slave the LORD showed the reigning Pharaoh a dream of what was going to happen in seven years from when he had the dream; but Pharaoh did not know that meant that there was going to be food crises in the land that would claim many lives. Pharaoh was troubled by the dream. He called his magicians and wise men to interpret the dream, but none of them could. Finally Pharaoh's butler remembered Joseph who had earlier interpreted his dream two years ago; and he mentioned him to Pharaoh. Joseph was brought before Pharaoh and God in His infinite mercy gave Joseph the interpretat ion of the dream; and the solut ion to forestall the impending disaster.

“1. O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. 2. Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;”

“1. If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, now may Israel say; 2. If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us: 3. Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us: 4. Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul: 5. Then the proud waters had gone over our soul. 6. Blessed be the LORD, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth. 7. Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped. 8. Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.”

But for God's mercy many would have died in Egypt that period by the famine that lasted seven years. Famine is a consumer. There was a time there was a famine in Samaria so much that people began to eat their children 2 Kings 6:25-29. The then king of Israel was going to hold Prophet Elisha responsible for the famine - 2 Kings 6:30-31. Because the LORD would not allow any one harm His prophet He intervened; and within twenty four hours from when the king would have arrested the prophet the famine came to an end 2 Kings 7:1-18. The LORD shall bring all forms of famine in your life to an end in Jesus name. The LORD shall restore to you the years the caterpillar had eaten in Jesus name. By the mercy of God, you will no longer experience famine. You shall have more than enough. Fear is another terrible thing that can consume someone. There are many things that can cause fear. The negative experience of people around can cause fear. The state of the economy can cause fear. Bad dreams, lack of means of livelihood among others can cause fear. The Bible says fear causes torment - John 4:18

Fear keeps one in bondage and makes the fellow unproductive. Thank God because He has not given you the spirit of fear 2 Timothy 1:7

It is because of His mercy that you are not in bondage of fear. One of the reasons Jesus came in flesh and blood is to deliver us from the bondage of fear Hebrews 2:14-15

It is mercy that prompted God to go this far in order to deliver us from the bondage of fear. By God's grace we have no reason to fear. Jesus through His finished work of redemption has conquered fear for us. We are free from the bondage of fear. We cannot be consumed by the spirit of fear. Mercy and grace has delivered us from fear. Friend, it is because of the LORD'S mercy that we are not consumed. We need to give God thanks for His mercy over us. .I pray that you shall continue to enjoy God's mercy in Jesus name. I shall continue in the next edit ion by God's grace if Jesus tarries. Until then remain blessed.

“…..because fear hath torment.”

“7. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”

“14. Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself l ikewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; 15. And del iver them who through fear of death were all their l ifetime subject to bondage.”
