Place Theory – explains high pitched sounds due to PLACE on basilar membrane (inside cochlea) that is triggered by high frequency sound wave

Frequency Theory – explains lower pitched sounds due to vibration of entire basilar membrane

VisionTrichromatic Theory – theory that explains COLOR vision – retina has 3 types of cones, sensitive to red, blue, and green light – all other colors are combinations of those
